  1. Do you mean for new releases or for crazy "the end is coming" prophecies?
  2. Hi Gaby, welcome to the boards! I am not an experienced phero user by any means - so I'll let others chime in - although I do know that the optimal number of sprays varies from person to person, even within the same age range. You'll probably need to experiment for a little while, maybe starting with just one spray, then gradually working your way up until you find what works best for you. I am sure our resident phero experts will be here shortly to answer your questions
  3. Like everyone said, this smells like a coconut-based cocktail. The coconut is truly creamy and delicious! It starts off as a spicy pina colada scent, then it softens into a fruity tropical musk. It's very laid back and relaxing to me - it would be perfect for a lazy summer afternoon.
  4. Confession time: I usually think of light florals as boring. There, I said it. But every now and then, one of them will seduce me with its sheer prettiness. Give Peas a Chance is one of these. It's much girlier and more innocent than the scents I usually favour, but it's so beautiful that I'm willing to cheat on my resins-and-spice staple blends. Just for this once. My skin seems to turn a lot of florals creamy, and this is what I end up with - a mellow, light, creamy scent. Not a hint of soapiness or high-pitched old lady florals in sight. Truly gorgeous and springlike!
  5. I just wanted to say that this is a fascinating experiment to watch unfold. Because of my line(s) of work, anything that has to do with self-awareness fascinates me. I must say that you ladies seem to be exceptionally attuned to your patterns and your inner thoughts - if only my clients knew themselves as well as you do, my job would be a piece of cake!
  6. At first, this is a big blast of spicy chocolate and coffee. The spice in this is very alluring... I can see it being devastatingly sexy on both genders. After a few minutes, the cinnamon and the base notes become more prominent. Spontaneous Combustion eventually settles into a soft and cuddly scent, which I wouldn't have expected given its firey character when freshly applied. But no matter what, this is a very sexy and addictive blend!

    Fayha

Oh, the jasmine in this is just beautiful! The lemon peel is a perfect counterpart for it, and it is already well established that I adore LPMP's frankincense and myrrh base, so I couldn't be happier with this scent. It's fresh, light, and deep at the same time. Very evocative, and extremely well-blended: all the notes are balanced in perfect harmony. The frangipani makes a fleeting appearance upon drydown, before the woods and spices take centre stage and combine into a soft, subdued oriental scent.
  8. Another delectable sweet incense blend! I have already professed my undying love for Sugared Frankincense and Myrrh, and this is definitely in the same category - only sultrier and less ecclesiastical. It goes on light and sweet, then progressively deepens as it dries down. It nevertheless remains soft and beautifully wearable from beginning to end. Lovely!
  9. Mmm! How is this not getting more love? It's fantastic! It's sweet yet incensey, it's simple yet layered, it's light yet deep... it's a paradox in a bottle, and I want to bathe in it. I know these sugared scents are intended as layering notes, but this one more than stands up on its own. I think I'm in love.
  10. Hi Nay1414! I am very new to pheros so I'll let more experienced users give you recommendations, but I hope you're going to love it here! Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. Have fun exploring!
  11. Got a lil' sniffie of this in a recent trade The fig note is quite lovely, and LPMP's honey is nothing short of scrumptious. The combination of the two might be a tad too sweet for me (I prefer fig blends that are more on the fresh and green end of the spectrum), but it's well worth trying if you like fig scents and get along with honey.

    NIGHT OF THE FAE

Fresh and leafy, this is the kind of scent that makes me feel rejuvenated and ready to take on the day. A great balance of floral, fruity and green, this is vibrant, innocent and youthful. Gorgeous!
  13. Well, we told you not to go to Camelot - 'tis a silly place. Sorry, couldn't resist [/hijack]
  14. G&L v.3: in the vial, the eggnog is most prominent; on my skin, the creaminess gives way to a pleasant spiciness, and I end up with mostly gingerbread. It's a very cheerful, relaxing scent, and I can see how it's a great fit for this phero blend. I found my Holy Grail of gingerbread scents years ago though (drier and spicier), so I will try layering the two in order to properly test Lace. I'll report back!

    NOX

This is for the 2009 rebrew: in the vial I get a dark fizzy scent, which blooms into a deep fruity resin blend after a few seconds on my skin. It doesn't take long for the patchouli and myrrh to show up, adding a bit of an edge and cutting through the fruitiness. Nox is a dark scent indeed, but it's more on the "deep and comforting" end of the spectrum than "brooding and mysterious".
  16. Pear? Ginger? Frankincense? This one has my name all over it! In the vial, I get mostly caramel and... apple rather than pear, but that may well be because my brain automatically goes "caramel + fruit? Must be apple I'm smelling" (silly brain!) On my skin, I do get more of a pear note, but it's not the bright green pear top note I'm used to, it's more subdued than that. Mostly, I am amping the ginger (a good thing in my book, believe it or not). I can't really detect the frankincense as such, but its presence in the background, combined with the ginger, takes this blend into gourmand/exotic territory more than foody/Christmas per se. Not that I'm complaining, as I already have quite the arsenal of foody scents, and I always welcome more unusual combinations.
  17. LP Winter Solstice '08: extremely buttery in the vial, but the second it touches my skin, the sugary fruitiness of the winter preserves starts taking over. This is obviously quite sweet and foody, but it never turns cloying. As it dries down, the resins make their presence known, and it eventually mellows into a sweet creamy scent that's as cozy as a favourite sweater. Perfect for a dreary rainy day like today!

    Turkish Delight

This one is just plain fun! First off, I have to say I love the label - isn't that giraffe just wonderful? This is probably the most playful LP I have tried so far. Yes, it is deep and exotic, but not in a sultry sexy way - at least not on me. It's youthful, vivacious, and the various notes seem to be having a blast playing hide-and-seek on my skin. On me, it's all fruity / syrupy resins rather than incense per se. There's no smokiness to it, but if you've ever opened a tub of shisha tobacco, the one that's dripping with molasses, you'll have an idea of what this smells like. Rose is the most prominent top note on me, followed by lemon, and an almost imperceptible hint of mint to keep things lively. Turkish Delight is a great mood booster, and that alone makes it a definite keeper. PS: I want a giraffe for Christmas.
  19. Luckily, this doesn't go wonky on me - I am getting the milky/caramelly/coconutty notes. Having said that, Dolce Far Niente doesn't really sing on my skin either. It's just a bit too much for my taste - as I can well imagine that dulce de leche plus buttercream, plus meringue, plus sugar would be if I were to have that combo at a dessert buffet. So really, that was just asking for trouble
  20. In the vial, this is sweet (of course!) and almost medicinal-smelling, like a tincture. On my skin, the sugar predominates at first - then as it warms up, the amber comes to the fore; white amber at first, then gradually more and more golden. After complete drydown, there is a certain powderiness in the background that I associate with black amber. This is a "quiet" amber that wears close to the skin. Although I usually favour darker, bolder amber blends, this will be perfect for layering with any scent that could benefit from an extra dose of smooth golden sweetness.

    Orchidacious

Orchids are one of my favourite florals, so I had to try this! In the vial, it's all hibiscus and passionfruit, with a hint of vanilla. The passionfruit strikes me as very true to nature, not at all syrupy or reminiscent of artificial flavouring as is often the case. Once on my skin, the orchids immediately come out to play, with the other tropical notes now playing a supporting role. There is a sharper, almost menthol-like note in the background that must probably be the mimosa - another favourite of mine. I usually tend to think of fruity/florals as fairy straightforward scents, but this is complex and very well blended. It's exotic, luscious, and intriguing - I keep coming back to it, trying to identify each individual note.

    Soie et Fourrure

In the vial, this brings to mind the best classic floral/oriental fragrances. It is ladylike and very refined. On my skin, the violet, linen and orris do indeed combine into a silky scent. It's smooth and soft, with an undeniable tactile dimension. It reminds me of wearing Lanvin Arpège to formal events, years and years ago - this is much softer than Arpège, but they share something in the drydown, a supremely elegant powderiness underscored by sandalwood, vanilla and the faintest touch of patchouli. It's truly gorgeous.

    Native Soil 2010

In the vial, Native Soil is a soft and well-rounded scent, perfumy, clean and refined. On my skin, it turns quite soapy for the first hour or so - certain types of sandalwood will sometimes do that. After a while, the woodsy notes become more predominant. The sandalwood in this is very calming, and perfect for a protection blend. A while longer, and the cinnamon eventually shows up. Now I love cinnamon in fragrances, the more robust the better, but the soapiness has returned by now and we're firmly in "clean" territory rather than spicy. Protective and soothing, it's a great fit for the intent.
  24. Bringing this thread back from the dead, because I recently received a sniffie of this in a trade. It's a pretty scent - white, floral, a little watery, with a hint of something brackish (I'm guessing that must be the pheros?) that further reinforces the aquatic feel. The phero scent dies down very quickly, revealing a very light, dewy floral - it is a romantic scent for sure, and so delicate it smells almost fragile, if that makes any sense. I usually like my fragrances more robust, but this is really pretty.

    Ishtar's Star

Oh, this is lovely! I grew up on the Mediterranean, and I absolutely love the smell of fig trees, the mix of milky green sap and purple ripeness... yum! This is one of the most realistic fig notes I've smelled in a long time - it's fresh and soft and puts me in mind of the late afternoon after one of those long sunny days.. when the afternoon lazily stretches into the evening and seemingly never wants to end... the sun is beginning to go down and it's finally getting a little cooler, and all of a sudden the beautiful smell of nearby fig trees surrounds you. Wow. This takes me back years
