  1. @Amanda, I'm not familiar with Carbon Black but I found the orchid in this quite strong in the beginning. I have an orchid whose blooms smell very similar! I wrote about my experience in the original thread if you'd like to read that. It mellowed out a lot though and I'm getting the nice sweetness and tanginess of the plum now. I actually wore this out today just on my arms (and writing this made me refresh it) and it's nice! It also sometimes approaches this bubblegum-like scent to me.
  2. I thought it was just me! Perhaps it has something with our skin or our sense of smell! I also detected that citrusy cleaner scent even on a paper towel lol. This is also not usually one I would go for but I also like trying out new things, @Kayla! I'm curious how it would layer with Pure Sugar too. I missed out on the layerables that had cream, but I think something with cream would go well too. I used this perhaps 2 nights ago before going to bed: this on my right wrist and Drew's Elegante on my left. It smelled so soft then even in the beginning! It was just... coffee β˜• with perhaps a tad bit of cream and some sweetness. I'm not sure if it was that mild because it aged more or because it was mild compared to Elegante.
  3. I am looking forward to the 'Weenies! I haven't been around here for that yet. I'm excited for any gourmand scents! 🍰 I'm hoping that I get to choose my samples well for this next round. I keep finding more scents I would like to try right after I just finalized my order!
  4. Oh, perhaps because it could be toxic for him? For your cat, not your uncle! πŸ˜‚ I am curious what your uncle thinks of this if he gets to try it!
  5. Thank you, @dolphindolls2! I'm just testing them nowadays so I've mostly been putting them on my arms. I can't do fragrances on my chest area at this time, but I can try the other places you put them on. @Femmefatale, I have not waited for these scents to dry down for that long! πŸ˜† I just put them on and get dressed as usual or apply them afterwards. Perfume under the clothes works well I think. Some of it does get on clothing, so the scent remains through that even when it fades from the skin. I try to be more careful nowadays though, because I slathered this last night just before going to bed, and I put on too much that some got on my face and made it itchy! πŸ˜… I had to change out of my top as well because it somehow absorbed the scent.
  6. @Femmefatale, how does this compare to your Dreme Creme? Is there any bitterness? I'm also curious about the dry down.
  7. When I tried this on Day 0, I blindly tested it and immediately identified it as Phero-Charged Money Potion (2023) due to the very distinct melon scent, specifically honeydew. I got burnt out of honeydew last year due to consuming honeydew items again and again, so I left this alone for a while. That is until today, which is Day 9 after I received my package! While wet, I detected the melons very strongly again. Unlike the others I've smelled on Day 0 whose scents have changed since then, this one still smells the same to me. As it dried down, I got this floral scent. I am usually not into florals because florals do not seem to like me (they usually go bitter on me) but it helped give this dimension so it's not just the melons. I checked this again for any floral notes, but there are none! It might be one of the fruits or perhaps a combination of them that's giving me that impression. I asked Mr. Onyx to sniff this on my skin without giving any background and he said it smells floral, reminiscent of rosewater. πŸŒΉπŸ’§ I might try this on a paper towel to see what it would smell like on there because I am honestly not picking out any of the other fruits aside from the melons. I wouldn't say that I don't smell them, because I think I do smell them and they're coming off as floral to me. I think they're just so well blended that I can't tell them apart from one another. I tried layering Rubylicious on top of this and it was good. πŸˆπŸ“βœ¨ I have yet to do a review of that one, but basically, I get some smokiness from Rubylicious that was lightened up by this Money Potion. Layering them amplified the strawberry in the Money Potion and also gave it more lasting power, which stretched its longevity to around 3 hours on my skin. I do agree with @Wanderlust though that this truly is summer! This one is sooo nice and refreshing! If I were to just base it off names and none of the notes, I would have thought this was Super Happy Fun Time! This would be great to have in a spray. I can imagine spraying this all over because it feels so light and bright! I'm still thinking about whether to get a full bottle because this does not last long on my skin. I've applied this twice today already and I think it lasted maybe 2-3 hours on me. Around 1.5 hours, I could still smell it well. Closer to 2 hours, I had to really get in there to smell it and it already faded significantly. A big reason why I like this is because it comes off as fruity floral on me despite not having any floral notes. I think this might be a way for me to wear something that gives a floral impression without having the bitterness. I also enjoy wearing off-season fragrances and I really like wearing bright scents like this during the colder seasons for a spark of brightness during an overcast day. 🌞🌧
  8. It's been over a day now for the Paper Towel Kahve and it's still present although mostly faded. The remnant of its dry down smells very nice and makes me want to try putting this on before going to bed. πŸ˜ŽπŸ’€
  9. I know what you mean regarding something that feels strong on the nose. I think it might be the spicy clove. It felt like that for me on Day 0 but it surprisingly mellowed out a lot for me. By the way, I really like your review! You have a way with words! I like how you said it's debonair and devastating on a gentleman. I can totally "The Most Interesting Man in the World" wearing this!
  10. I've been very productive! It's been over 2 hours now and great news: there is no citrusy washroom cleaning tablet scent! πŸ™ŒπŸ» Well, it's gone from my skin now, but these were my impressions when it was close to 2 hours: On my skin, it's just a nice, woody, clean scent. Mr. Onyx said it smells like men's aftershave. On the paper towel, it smells woody, kind of sweet, and I'm also getting a hint of something nutty. Although it seems like this does not last long on my skin, I think I actually like it now. I might try it again on my skin and on another paper towel, or perhaps on a handkerchief.
  11. Same for me! I experienced that with OCCO: SLF and Honeyed Love Potion! For me, I think it's not just dirty honey. Even some fragrances that say, "with a touch of honey" smell like they poured a whole cup of it on me! I was amazed when I couldn't detect honey separately on this!
  12. @Amanda this does smell glamorous to me! ✨ Unless I have something else to wear and if I remember to, I might try this out when I next have an event.
  13. I had to check if this has lime or something citrusy because I'm getting that note when it's on my skin. For the initial few seconds upon application, I get the nice, bitter coffee. But then comes forward this citrusy scent that reminds me of washroom cleaning tablets! 😭 I thought that was just a Day 0 thing but the same happened today which is Day 7 from when I got my package. I was so looking forward to having this as my late-night productivity scent! β˜• I decided to put some on a paper towel and oh wow, that is so different! I don't get the citrusy washroom cleaning tablet scent at all! It's just a nice woody, somewhat bitter yet sort of sweet, cool scent. Yes, it somehow made the paper towel smell cool lol. I don't know why I get woody from this since it doesn't seem to have any woody notes. I'm typing this as I am doing the testing. I am having a bit of hope now because as it's drying down (it's still a bit wet at the moment), I'm starting to get less of the citrusy washroom cleaning tablet scent. I also asked Mr. Onyx to sniff my arm and he just said, "Woodsy." Ironically, I tried sniffing the paper towel again and I'm now getting the citrusy washroom cleaning tablet scent lol. It's like the reverse of what happens with my skin. I just sniffed it again and it's gone. All this has been going on for the past 15 minutes or so since my initial application. It's very interesting how different people perceive notes and blends differently. I think what @Femmefatale is getting as incense is giving me and Mr. Onyx woody. I'll come back in a few hours or so to see what this morphs into since @Mila mentioned that it softens significantly and becomes comforting.
  14. I've been taking a break from this one because I keep getting lightheaded with it. I initially thought it's perhaps because I usually have something else on a different arm, or perhaps because of the cardamom note. I put this on again just by itself (though I forgot to shake) and just swiped a modest amount. The cardamom came on strong during the wet stage. I think a very distinct cardamom note is not for me. It's dried down some now and it's creamier and not as strong with the cardamom. I really like this dry down scent. However, I'm still feeling lightheaded and somewhat queasy. Now I'm wondering if it's not the cardamom note but perhaps the Mother's Little Helper in it? I'll set this aside and try again perhaps several more days from now. If I still get queasy, I might need to trade this sometime in the future.
  15. When my sale package I arrived, I did something similar. I put pretty much everything on at the same time lol.
  16. I don't know who commissioned this one so I was not able to add that information. As usual, this was way too floral for me on Day 0. Surprisingly though, it wasn't bitter. It was sweet. It was the sweetest out of everything I tried but not in a dessert way. I left it alone until yesterday, which was Day 6 after I received the package. It's still as sweet! I'm unsure how long this lasts on my skin because I wore it overnight and woke up not smelling it on my arms. I put a little dab on my clothing though, and it lasted there for perhaps 18 hours! It probably could last even longer but that clothing's in the wash now. This also seems to have more sillage compared to the other Private Editions I've tried. It was the first time I got asked whether I was trying on various perfumes even though I'd slathered others. I liked this better when it rested more. I won't recognize tonka and I didn't get the sandalwood. I don't know if I've smelled tuberose and prickly pear by themselves, so I'm not sure if this is just ignorance on how they smell, but they smell like a singular note to me here, exactly fruity floral as described. I thought tuberose smelled like something close to jasmine or ylang-ylang but I'm not getting that at all. I'm also usually very sensitive to the presence of honey, especially here where it says they're drenched in it, but it's so well-blended I can't distinguish it by itself. Interestingly, to me, this also smelled very similar when wet and dried down. This is not my usual type of fragrance because I'm very into gourmand scents nowadays, and florals are usually bitter on me, but I quite like this one, especially because it somehow stayed sweet even during dry down. It's pretty potent too, so a little goes a long way. It's very well-named given its boldness in its potency, flamboyance in its sillage, and extravagance in its scent, very fitting for The Peacock & the Lion. I can see this going over well in a formal, dressy event because it will be a standout. I'm looking forward to whenever I get a creamy layering note. I want to try and see if adding creaminess to this will give it a cosy vibe.
  17. Yes! I'm still looking for something that smells exactly like the one from years ago but I am enjoying the process of finding it. I wasn't around for that but it sounds delicious! Hopefully that comes back in the future! πŸŠπŸ’–
  18. The Peacock & the Lion (Label Image by AI) A fruity floral crafted of a most regal pairing. The queen of flowers - the bold and fruity tuberose, beautifully blended with the colorful, sweet prickly pear, drenched in sweet honey and displayed on a lavish bed of tonka and soft sandalwood.
  19. I reached out for this again today. I just tried a cedar leaf πŸƒ body wash and something in it reminded me of this. I put this on again and although they're not quite the same, there's a similarity. Perhaps it's the sandalwood in this and the cedarwood note in the body wash that give similar earthy and woody vibes. I read that sandalwood is sweeter and softer than cedarwood. This blend overall is more bitter than just cedarwood though. It's interesting how the other notes such as black tea, bergamot, and spicy clove affect that.
  20. Great review, @dolphindolls2! It seems you must have a natural body chemistry that lends itself to having good sillage for scents. I saw one of your review comments for Black Panther where someone asked where you purchased your perfume. I think it's the same for me, @Amanda with regards to diffusion. πŸ˜‚ Although I have mostly, perhaps even exclusively, just worn this at home so far. I can smell it on myself though and enjoy it very much. πŸ’—
  21. Thank you for the review, Kayla! It's great when things work out like that. ✨ I'm also looking for a scent from years ago and I've found a close one recently, but it's not quite the same. I'm happy for you Kayla and also that you've recovered enough to enjoy scents again! ❀️
  22. Oh, thank you! I thought it was just because of my rank. Thank you! I appreciate your consideration of others! ❀️ I think it might be okay since it's a different type of product. They don't sell sunscreen or at least not that I've seen. I've been trying to resist putting this on but I wanted a comforting scent, so now I'm wearing it again. It's soooo good! πŸ₯°
  23. This was actually my top pick for a Private Edition I was interested in, but I held off because I wanted a foodie Dreamsicle/Creamsicle scent and the impression I got in the other thread is that this is less foodie and more adult. Here I am waiting for the reviews though. πŸ˜… I hope you're able to get some good rest, @Kayla!
  24. I initially was not going to pick up the rebrew of this Private Edition since the notes are not something I would usually go for, but reading @dolphindolls2 raving reviews and purchases of multiple bottles of this throughout the years, just like Amanda's Beach Sol 🌺🏝🌞, I decided to take the risk and go for it. I did a no-rest trial swipe on Day 0 and it was potent. I thought, oh no, this might be too strong for me. The black orchid came out strong and as with most florals, it was bitter on me. But it was not entirely bitter because I could smell the black plum quite well in the beginning. It was still too much though, so I left it alone and tried it again on Day 1 or 2 with the same result. On Night 3, I decided to give this another go after freshly showering and thoroughly removing other scents that may influence how I perceive this. I put a generous amount on my arms, was relieved that it mellowed out a bit, and then went to bed. By the time I woke up on Day 4, the scent was faint but still detectable on my arms. My skin just ate it up. I smelled it coming from my chest though, but I did not apply it there. It seems the scent somehow got on my clothing. That was the first time I detected tartness from this and thought, okay that's new. The scent on my clothing lasted at least 12 hours. Today is Day 5 and I decided to put on a more modest amount and I decided to apply it to my wrists, cubital fossa, and chest. I did not want to apply it directly to my chest, so I put some on my wrist and palm and transferred that to my chest. The scent on my wrist smelled very tangy. It's very interesting. I added Soul Cakes to it to see if they would layer. They did not lol. Soul Cakes ate this. I figured maybe I needed more of this to go with Soul Cakes. I added more but it was just Soul Cakes with a hint of tartness. The scent on my chest though, oh wow. It was sweeter. Maybe it's because I generate more heat in that area, but it smelled distinctly different. I felt juicy and ripe. I started to understand how this is the Black Panther. I just had a wash and put some of this on my palm to mix with my body oil. It smells nice, light, and tangy on my arms where I applied it. I also added some to my hair and I'm getting more of the bitter floral. I think the plum comes out more on my skin while the orchid comes out more on my hair. It also becomes more of the sweet, juicy plum with more body heat for me. Unfortunately, I do not wear scents on my chest area nowadays, so I'm not able to enjoy this in the form that I like the most, at least for now. I'll put this aside and see if ageing this some more will bring out the same sensation I get when it's on my chest even if I apply it on my wrists or arms. I might also try it again later with a simpler layering scent.
  25. Thank you, @Femmefatale! The lavender seems to become sweeter and more mellow for me as the days go by and it's more rested. Perhaps yours is getting some good rest too while waiting in the post office lol.
