  1. I have waited for some time to review LP Original. Initially because I got so entrenched in all the other wonderful fragrances that Mara has offered, but for me, THIS review had to be soulfully felt and reflected upon before writing it. LPO was and is, for me, something much larger and hard to describe. I ordered a sample on a whim, after LOTS of other things. Kind of like I felt it was my due diligence, if you will. What transpired is something I humbly admit I never expected - to totally fall completely and unexpectedly in love with a fragrance that defies description for me. Love Potion Original is an aphrodisiac, no doubt, but for me it's so much more. It's centering, grounding, empowering.... willful abandon, release and acceptance - but all at once. It is beautiful, pure, esoteric and transparent. It magically reminds me that what I AM is enough. And for that alone I am ever so grateful for it and the LP Master, Mara. The first time I wore it I felt like I was wrapped in a fragrance that transcended time & space. I felt like Jane Seymour in "Somewhere in Time" but I could just as easily be Bella Swan in any Twilight episode. I don't "get" it, as I love SO many LPs, but this fragrance brings it all "home" to me. IMO LPO should be required curriculum when joining LP. In 6 short months I have accrued FAR more LPs than I ever thought I would, yet, in a matter of a few short weeks I have quite unintentionally blown through nearly a full bottle of LPO. And although NEW 2014 was stiff competition , I know that LPO will hold the record as the first LP I legitimately ran out of in record time, and perhaps just as important, I cannot EVER be without. If I had to pick one scent (and one only) to live on a desert island with, it would be LPO. No hesitations.
  2. Where's Pure Sugar???!!! She needs to chime in here... Halo has never steered me wrong on anything phero, and I probably never would have purchased LFN on my own on a whim. Case in point - I purchased Lumina on a "whim" of mine - but it does nada for me. I know many of the forum members love it though so I'm not dissing here!!! I like Leather too. Dom makes me kinda mouthy and irritable - but Dolly and others will tell you how awesome it is. We all share in the wonderful, unpredictable, uniquely personal adventure that IS LP and it helps to hear how everyone's experiences (and experiments) go. THAT much I do know. LFN has added cops, but I think it has 'none' too (?) so just adding Sheer Essence or OCCO to LFM probably wouldn't be quite the same. Again - I have to toss this to the forum vets who know this stuff SO well. It's fun though, right Beach Goddess?!?! AND we get the added bonus of SCENT NIRVANA on the ride!
  3. I love LFM too but there's something about LFN that makes me feel a little more 'in charge' of my bad self... I'm sure Halo can explain better the technical reasons why it just feels a little more edgy. I have a hard time committing all the ingredients to memory - LFN may just have added cops? I can't imagine that one little difference would make the EFX that unique - but we all react differently and for me anyway, LFN is a frontrunner.
  4. Welcome Sputnick! Glad to have you. We need more dudes Let me rephrase that... cool dudes. You will always however, be severely outnumbered here so behave.
  5. Me too Rose! I read that whole thread on the "experiment" that ultimately became Empathy Potion and it was fascinating! And LFN has got to be one of, if not THE fav of my stash. I tried it on Halo's recommendation after she said it helped her clean (a constant battle around here) and it is awesome. For me it's like my "Bitches Get Shit Done" trademark phero.
  6. Remarkable effort on your part Mara...maybe the universe is giving you a much needed break In the form of a 'computer problem' (you'd keep relentlessly going otherwise). And everyone has the tools, but it takes the Sorcerer (& the Wizard) to make the magick. A daunting task I willingly confer to you.
  7. At the risk of being simplistic here, I would love LP Original in a wax melt. I would swear off "generic" scented candles permanently if I knew I could have that year round. Add any pheros you want, I would just love to have it as my (& my home's) signature scent.
  8. LOL JO...venturing into unfamiliar scent territory falls somewhere between a "delicate balance" and a "crap shoot". I love dark chocolate but I CANNOT stand to wear it in a scent. I love margaritas & key lime pie so I wondered if I was headed into rough water here too, but JKLK is so perfectly balanced to create a euphoric citrus/creme/toasty coconut dream that I think very few mortal women would NOT adore it, even if they don't usually "do" citrus.
  9. I have a vast array of emotions right now after reading this! What an incredible story. What a remarkable animal spirit. What a perfect and magnificent mom you were to Olivia. I feel cheated and blessed all at once when I read about relationships such as yours and Olivia's. Been there. I know. I hope I meet her when I at last cross "the rainbow bridge" and finally see "mine" again and - if I'm lucky -all the "legends" I will certainly recognize thanks to my earthly friends- I would feel honored. Thank you for sharing this BC - I know it was a bittersweet anniversary.
  10. If you DON'T love it I will be shocked but I will be happy to take it from your hands if that happens!? No worries... there's always more to LOVE around the bend so I don't get too distraught anymore when I miss out... figure it's fate, LOL. Yes I'd love to do a PE - but there are SO many good ones from the vets that it's hard to take that leap! Hopefully Mara will save the recipe on these two (Jennifer's Kisses) so we wont have to reinvent the magick combo.
  11. I'd love a unisex melt like Ilori, Sandy Bottom or Steamy Daydreams. Those all are uplifting blends that everyone around my house can seem to agree on. On a wintery note, one of my favorite après ski moments was sitting out on the deck of the lodge watching the sun go down... The bar had a simple drink called The North Face which was a mixture of milk & bittersweet hot chocolate with a shot of peppermint schnapps. So many patrons would be drinking them that you could smell the rich chocolate mint as soon as you walked out on the deck. Another Fav was the same bittersweet hot chocolate with a shot of Hot Damn! Hot cinnamony chocolate heaven! I'd love either of those in a melt!
  12. Judy O beat me to it, but I want to be a backup on both Jennifer's Key Lime Kiss and Sunset Kiss if there's ever a rebrew or a magical extra bottle appears!!! Please save the recipes Mara!
  13. JudyO you are lucky - I just went on to get the last bottle! I put JKLK on this morning & decided that when I got home I'd get the last one (I'd snag another JSK too if there were any!) LOL we did our "job" reviewing these and it does move the product- sometimes too fast for our own good! It will be awesome with Cougar I know! It is sexy flirty fun. I know you'll love it... And if not, you know where to find me !!!
  14. BC I have to tell you that I love love LOVE both of your PEs that I (luckily) snatched up... Key Lime and Sunset Kiss(es)! They are both different and BOTH incredibly wonderful in different ways. Sunset Kiss is downright sexy. I don't know what I'm going to do because I only have one bottle that has to last me (until a rebrew - hint, hint) The blood orange combined with the creme brulee is stimulating and deeply sensual... you can't help but inhale the lusciousness deeply once you get that first little whiff. I keep walking around sniffing my left arm (Key Lime Kiss) and right arm (Sunset Kiss) and feeling like I could get completely lost in either one (but I still have to fold the laundry. Bummer). Key LIme Kiss is flirtatious; Sunset Kiss is total abandon... I just bought BI and I want to experiment with it - not sure if JSK can hide it completely, but maybe just a dab or two!? This would make an incredible body butter, or creme, or souffle, or scrub, or shampoo, or massage oil... or any other kind of lubricant for that matter. And I would buy the entire line (YAY even more compulsive spending on B&B products!) Thank you Jennifer & Mara ETA: just an update here BC... You still ROCK & so do Key Lime & Sunset Kiss! I have enjoyed both of them so much the last few weeks as summer winds down. They really are two of my fav LP discoveries in my short 6 mos here. <3
  15. BC I have to tell you that I love love LOVE both of your PEs that I got.... Key Lime and Sunset Kiss(es)! They are both different and BOTH incredibly wonderful in different ways. The Key Lime Kiss is fresh, bright and happy and OH so yummy without screaming FOODY (I love foody, but I have a LOT of foody scents already!) I get the toasty coconut note and yummy vanilla-creaminess after drydown - but I can still smell a tiny tart bit of lime poking through. I don't know what else to say except you and Mara made a great team on these... I am really enjoying them. ETA: OMG I love them both. Please save the recipe. I said this in my JSK review but it really fits (IMO) Key Lime Kiss is fun and flirtatious (but in a GROWN-UP way) and Sunset Kiss is OMG take me now lusciousness. These have got to be two of my favorite LPs ever. Seriously.
  16. I like the zucchini bread idea that Halo had... Banana Bread is great but so 'yesterday', lol Anything with lavender but not TOOO flowery /girly so that we martyrs living with the Y's can have our cake & eat it too. And I'm still loving Luna's idea of the citrus-melon-mint if you can make it work for a melt. She always has good ideas so sounds like a good challenge that you could easily master, Mara.
  17. Ditto what Luna said... And it's safer for me to have this kind with the males (& their friends) around, so I don't get the melodramatic "GAWD mom what IS that?!" (as spoken through their hand cupped over their mouth) which nearly always happens when I burn a more perfume-y scent. I like the idea of the lighter more unisex melt - if as Luna said - it's not too 'fragile'. ETA: Foodies are usually well-received around here too... love CinnaMel's suggestion of a cinnamon-peach crumble. Apple, pumpkin and straight spice smells are (IMO) so overdone in the fall by everyone. Also... I was in a boutique in Washington (D.C) in June and they had a wax melt going that my husband thought was incredible - the owner couldn't remember the 'brand' but said the scent was Black Walnut & Leather. It stuck in my mind because I had never heard anyone use "leather" in a scent before LP.
  18. Wow I never thought of myself as a Pink Chick but this one has really caught my attention. It is bright yummy pink lemonade cake when I first apply it. A really bright happy vibe. I wish the citrus lasted a bit longer - or even the cake. It calms down within an hour on me and changes to more of a caramelized sugar with a nutty-woody note. Not bad at the final stretch, but not the original pink tartness that I fell in love with in the beginning! I'm constantly amazed how a wet scent can completely morph.
  19. Its great (& smart) that you are following your intuition while learning new ideas here! I was so excited to experiment with pheros at first, that I didn't really take enough time to take personal (mental/stress) inventory each day before jumping right into something new. Not only can it "fail" you on some days, it can actually backfire and what worked for you Monday may not work at all by Friday - or so you think - the Phero doesn't change, but our bodies and environment certainly do. What I have learned to love and appreciate about LP as much as the pheros is the ability to seek and find beautiful scents that comfort , inspire, arouse, focus, excite and relax... Scent can play such a huge role in our overall well-being and I am finding that some of Maras creations can actually improve my ability to tune in to my current reality, and then proceed with choosing a Phero to enhance it, or not.
  20. Ditto what Dolly said! It reminded me of a business dinner I attended with my husband (10 other couples in attendance) where I wore Open Windows with OCCO Ambrosia. The night was lighthearted and fun but the thing that struck me was that my husband was unusually attentive - kind of 'date night-esque" - yet it was a very social event (where men tend to sit around and endlessly talk business). Whether he was 'hovering' because he was feeling amorous, or running subconscious interference lest the other males in the room were "downwind" from me and my OCCO, lol - I feel sure it was all triggered by the combination. I do love the spectator sport of watching the pheros/cops in action Luna made a really good point though - the variable in using them can be very situational, and Blue Bear's right about the stress factor - stress seems to be the trump card for me in terms of whether I see results or have positive self effects. I think I've even gone a little too far - attempting to alleviate my stress or drastically improve my mood by using a certain phero and that can have disasterous results. Other more experienced forum members can really help you learn some important do's and don'ts. The best advice I can give is to take it slow at first, you'll enjoy the ride far more I promise!
  21. LAM is a good place to start - especially since it's a mood elevator (with the Alpha-Androstenol) and has some great scent choices to cover the cops smell (which you should probably warn your friend about - dry down time is very important) I personally haven't tried BI yet (I've just ordered it) but from what I understand (and the description) the cop scent is very apparent at first. Read up as much as you can in the Phero Wiki and Phero List sections on the LPMP home page - knowledge is power in this case! Plus many of the forum vets here (Mara of course, Halo, Luna, Dolly...to name a few) are extremely knowledgable in the phero arena... definitely pay attention. I got Compromising Positions (w/Sexpionage), Playdate (w/LAM) perfume blends in the beginning to try - and I also got a bottle of LAM original scent just on a whim. As luck had it, LAM was and still is the one my husband responds to almost without fail. I would definitely recommend beginning to experiment with a perfume phero blend, rather than straight up UN, not only to get used to the smell but also to get an idea of amounts to use and correct applications for each. Best of luck and keep us posted!
  22. Wow this makes complete sense! I equated my skewed initial response to 'travel shock' but this makes for a far more logical explanation .
  23. I thought this was JLo on Sugared Red Musk. This is a supermodel label. Awesome picture.
  24. These are PRECIOUS. Ok you need to get big label posters printed for their room.

Thanks Halo. I have a (probably dumb) question. I've been assuming that the ingredients in the pheromone lists are in the order of most>least, is that not the case? For instance BI says * Ingredients: Alpha-Androstenol, Alpha-Androstenone, Estratetraenol and Copulins. So I mistakenly assumed the cops were minimal. Then, I remembered I had a sample of Caressful Breeze w/BI and you are absolutely right I TOTALLY smell the cops even in that little sample! *Maybe* this just means that even tho it's the last ingredient, there's still a fair amount of cops in it & since the other pheros are odorless (sort of) the cops are the strongest scent, regardless? (I'm kind of talking to myself here to make sure I get it) I think I'm learning something new here (Yay!) I should not assume anything by just reading the ingredients in the mix. So in your opinion is BI spray the way to go, just be careful with application & dry down?
