I bought it for my daughter, the Sherlock fan. It’s a mix of tea, vanilla, and light floral. My daughter says she smells like tea and she likes it. So, I didn’t make a mistake buying a FB. I like her wearing it because it is light and gentle. She likes the fragrance and the Sherlock association. Smelling straight from the bottle, I get … floral shop – the fragrance you encounter when walking into a florist. Green, slightly flowerly, relaxing, and quiet. This is different and special and I will try it closer to springtime. I have this weird thing with matching my fragrances to what I think the season would smell like. Now having tried it, it has all those things and dries down to a nice LP sugar with a hint of classy smoke. I have to keep reapplying it. The last time I wore it my daughter commented that I smelled good and I replied that it was her perfume I was wearing.
  2. I have never been a big floral fan, but I am liking Mara’s creations. Never get a headache, never get a tickly nose where I feel like I want to rip my nose off my face. This one is a soft, nature-like scent with florals. It smells just like what I think the meadow on the label would smell like without needing the tissues. It could lean towards laundry detergent, but the fern, grasses, and birch leaves are keeping it natural. It is more sophisticated than a laundry detergent scent. I like the florals – freesia, daffodil, honeysuckle, and water lily together. The florals are soft and smooth, never sharp and pointy. It just smells pretty and springtime outdoors. It doesn’t really change much from wet to drydown except that the florals mellow out and sort of take a backseat – they are at the forefront when wet. It is similar to Seelie which I also have, but with flowers. Seelie I think of as purely green, Mountain Meadow I think green with delicate flowers. I sniffed my wrist later in the evening and the scent had still retained a freshness. I never thought I could sniff flowers on me all day and not want to blow my nose! I refer to it as my “The Sound of Music” scent as it reminds of that opening grassy mountain!

    Perty Flirty

I’ve worn this a couple times and this one always plays around with my nose. For the longest time I never got the cocoa, but one day I just sniffed the bottle and was like I smell the chocolate! The first time I actually put it on I swear I smelled cat pee; I think it was the papaya. But then it changed into a sweetness with a faint fruity overtone. And I never got cocoa the first time. The second time I was ready for the papaya which I then thought smelled good, got what I then learned must be violets (this I realize after receiving my freebie An Act of Violets), and the cocoa in and out all day. This past time on drydown I just get sweet smelling goodness. It’s a fun one! An odd combination, but bright and pretty. The bottle’s going down pretty fast cause this one I have to reapply quite often. I first bought it off of Etsy and stashed away for a few months. Then I started using it heavily when I saw it was available again. Now it’s back on the sold out list. Wished I had grabbed another bottle while it was available. It works for different moods due to the flower/chocolate/fruit combo for me. I had this one crossing over from the Valentine’s Day into Spring.
  4. I got my full bottle as a free gift. It always looked interesting on Etsy, but then I thought the name was “An Ace of Violets” due to the fancy “t” on “Act”. As in “ace in the hole” or what I thought of first “the ace of spades” (Motorhead). After I realized it was An “Act” of Violets, even better. I never really knew what violets smelled like until receiving this. Now it is one of my favorite florals. Wet it smells like violets complete with the stems. Very floral and violety. Then, the berries pop out. There is something else in there (pepper and clove), but I would never had been able to identify what it was without reading the notes and I don’t smell them; I guess they just round out the fragrance. It’s a nice violet/berry/herbal scent. Nice for spring. A pleasant bonus freebie!
  5. I got a sniffie of this, liked it, and graduated to a full bottle. Let me preface this by saying I do not know what an orchid smells like. I cannot identify individual flower notes (yet). When I wear this, I only get tea. Tea, tea, tea. Smelling right out of the bottle, I may get some floral. My daughter pronounced “floral” when she smelled it on me. But, I just get tea and not much sweetness and sharp tea at that. I tried it twice with good slathers. Tea is not a bad thing to smell like, but I’d like more sweetness. I think I may order Sugared Orchid and layer that with it -- to get more sweetness and to learn what orchids smell like! Or a fruit to go with the tea, maybe make a “flavored tea”. I am still sitting here while I write this trying to smell orchid! I just googled “l’eau” and it means “the water of” in French. The water of orchids? Hmmm……still not getting the orchid, darn it!
  6. From Pheroma 2014 timeframe: I agree with a prior review that this smells like summer time. The coconut turned plasticky on me, but I liked it from the wet beginning and tried to overlook the plastic. I know there is no peach in it, but on me I smelled peachy and fruity. It’s bright and sunny. But I was wearing it to Christmas shop and it just didn’t agree with my sense of what I think I should smell like in December. On the other hand, it was my first experience with La Femme Mystere and I liked it. My husband and I had wonderful shopping experiences for the entire 5 hours we were out at many different places and a great time together during what is usually a hectic time. I am on the hunt for a cold weather version with La Femme Mystere. I would save this for warm weather. Update: I bought a full bottle in the 2015 sale. This is a wonderful warm weather scent. Fruity and bright and definitely for summertime! Smelled great all day without re-application and had a happy day wearing it! I still get that plasicky note about halfway in to drydown, but it disappears after a couple hours. So glad I was able to get a full bottle after all this time!
  7. This was one of my first purchases off Etsy. I know this is supposed to smell like a royal chocolate cake. And it does smell like chocolate. My husband commented about how good I smelled. It totally reminds me this old-fashioned candy kitchen from my hometown that I worked at for awhile. It smells like that circa early 1900’s candy store front on me. I don’t get cake from it at all, only an old-fashioned hometown candy fragrance. I really like it for that chocolatey mood!
  8. I started with a sample and graduated to a full bottle. This is a nice perfumey blend. I smell sandalwood first. What's in the bottle wet and first applied stays. The scent doesn't really change. There's so much in it that it is hard to pick out the individual notes. I think I smell maple as well. Alas, neither sandalwood nor maple are in the notes!! I see this as being more a rainy day scent for spring or fall. Am I smelling the smoke and thinking fall? What others see as "humid", I view as "rainy". It's a nice scent where you can't pick out any particular note. It does fade away rather quickly on me and needs re-application.
  9. This starts out floral and almost soapy then morphs into something sophisticated, like a department store perfume without the headache. I can’t figure out what note it is, but it smells good and not foody. I also think it's because the fig is green and then I am getting the honeysuckle. On the drydown, it really becomes good. The green burns off and a yummy sweetness comes out -- the musk and vanilla? I don’t know why, but it makes me think of the renaissance fair, like the scent of a fair blonde maiden -- probably the corset on the label. I want to say it reminds me of Revlon's Scoundrel from the 80's that I used to wear as a teen because it really starts smelling familiar and the scent memory sends me to that time in my life. However, if this didn't have Bang! in it, I would probably pass it up. I smell it, I put it on, and then wonder why I selected it. Then that drydown takes effect and I remember why. I don't know if I get hits, but the pheromones make me "think" I'm sexy, so it's worth it.
  10. Initially, I thought this was too dark when I first received my ladies sampler compared to the other LPs, but then I was new to LPMP in general. However, almost a year later, I finally took it for a day-long test drive, and really liked it. I smelled yummy all day long. It is long lasting. It is another yummy LP all vanilla and dark sugar. I got no spiciness or incense quality from this one at all. No frosting, no cake, and certainly no pink sugar (that's LP Pink's description on me). It smells very LP Original from the vial, but dries down to just a dark, lingering vanilla yumminess without the incense on me. I was actually surprised at the lack of incense and the how much I liked the fragrance in general. Some dark, deep, rich fragrances are "stinky" in a good way ( ) , but I was pleasantly surprised at how normal and wearable this was for me. I mean, wrong or right, I wore it to the office! If I saved all my sexy scents for other opportunities, I would never be able to wear them all!!
  11. I've had this in the Weenie sampler, but just purchased this in the sale. Time to start wearing the fall scents! The notes make it sound like it should smell like an oatmeal cookie. Out of the bottle, it actually does smell like an oatmeal cookie. When I apply it, I get an intense whiff of butterscotch. This smells cookie-like but does lean more towards smelling like the actual animal crackers then an oatmeal cookie in my opinion. While it's drying down I also get a hint of cinnamon (which is not in the notes). It then dries down to a nice autumny animal cracker and I get the hint of cedar in the drydown along with sugar. Nice cookie scent!

    Gushing!!!

Welcome, Mynx77!! This sale has tripled my collection. I haven't even been around for a year! Word of advice -- don't "ignore" any samples too long...or you'll try it and it will be sold out!! I described myself as not addicted, but obsessed. Trying to prioritize what I want to buy and trying out the samples before the full bottles are gone! The challenge is finding one you don't like!!!

    Hi!

Hi, Trissalynn! Anything vanilla is the best. I also have that "baseball problem". You need to try the rebrew of Lick of Cream, too. Delicious!! I need to try OCCO White and Beth's Blushing Milkmaid. I have a running list...it's nuts! Welcome!!

    Hello!

Hi! I just bought a Spider Silk in the sale. So soft and pretty. I wear an LP everyday...nothing else compares. Welcome to the forum.
  15. I would also like to reserve a Grimoire please. And then I really must stop. I was on vacation when the notes first came out. Such a nice group of PEs!
  16. Hi, Mara! May I please reserve a bottle of Lisa's Pirate Treasure? I have already sent an email to request an invoice which includes additional Etsy purchases, sale items, and a non-limited edition item. Thanks so much!!
  17. O.M.G!! I didn't even know this was happening.
  18. Combat gear?!?! Oh my! Is it going to be that bad??? Can't wait to get into this this year. Already warned the husband!
  19. Hi, hearts! I usually like to get in a good day with a fragrance and live with it before I review. You also can't sit on these samples or it will be sold out before you have the chance. I am enjoying a Candied Violet Fluff sniffee today. Since I have the full bottle of Cherry Rum Yum, I am not in so much of a panic.
  20. I love, you guys!!! I've been so busy with work that I haven't been able to post, but I have gotten two packages in the last week - one with NRs/FB purchases and another with Lina's Cherry Rum Yum. Both times I was also delighted with the bags, especially the small green/gold iridescent (sp?) one. That one seemed like it was custom-made for me. Also, the sniffees! I've gotten some of Lina's other creations and a Sugared Honeycomb!!! Yay!!! I can't wait for this upcoming sale!!!
  21. I just wanted to hello and welcome, Ivysaur. There are many more people on this board that know pheros better than me!
  22. I got a sniffie of this, too, and tried a quick swipe. I know it says a non-spicy pumpkin, but I am setting this aside for a later in the year swipe; it smells like Autumn to me being pumpkin and all. I didn't notice the banana, but I totally noticed maple which I think I amp and maple means fall to me. It was a pleasant sweet frangrance, just not for summer on me. I will definitely give it consideration in a couple months and try the entire sniffee. I was just being curious this time especially since I had another Lina PE on order.
  23. I received Lina's Candied Violet Fluff as a sniffee and am trying it out. I kept seeing it on Etsy but I never thought of myself as a pink sugar person or a violet person. Well, violet is slowly becoming my favorite flower and I am finding pink sugar no longer scary. And I love marshmallow. At first sniff on skin, I thought it was an odd combination - cake against flower. After about an hour I started to like it. This will probably sound weird, but I would call this fresh. I think the violet is giving the cakey, marshmallowy, pink sugar part a freshness. And yet it seems light. It is not overly foodie. It's interesting. I like it. It's going on my list. Nice idea and work, Lina and Mara!!
  24. Lina - I reserved and bought this off the bat! I love cherry and I love almonds. The day I got it, I smelled it and thought it smelled like cherry angel food cake. I just took another whiff a week later (after the travel shock) and got more of the rum. I will put in a better review after I try it out on skin for real (many new purchases, NRs, and samples going on now and I am in a tropical phase). I am sure it will be delicious!! I love Lina's ideas. I've gotten as sniffies both her Sweetie Pie and Candied Violet Fluff. Both delicious!
  25. Mara, I just saw this post (and just sent you all an email). I am still interested in Lina's Cherry Rum Yum, so please bold my reservation. Thank you! Update: John was kind enough to send me an invoice and I have paid for my reserved PE already. Thanks, John!
