  1. The Empress of Persica Down through the ages, there have been powerful women who have taken whatever they desired. Men have conquered nations and brought back untold riches just to please them. Women like Cleopatra, Isabella, Elizabeth I…and the Empress of Persica. Her legend tells us of the jewels and gold that were lavished upon her by potential suitors, who bored her to tears. A humble stableboy, however, gained her favor when he presented the object of his desire with a perfect, succulent peach, still dripping with the morning dew…. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Magickal Meanings of Ingredients: PEACH ~ Love, promotes fertility, happiness, abundance, marriage, longevity, wishes granted. GINGER ~ Fiery and fortifying, induces passion, intensifies love spells and success spells, love, money, success, power, increases sensitivity in the erogenous zones. FRANKINCENSE ~ Purification, consecration, protection, exorcism. PEACH BLOSSOM, NECTARINE ~ Love, promotes fertility, happiness, abundance, marriage, longevity, wishes granted. MILK/BUTTER/CREAM ~ Nurturing, soothing, eases troubled relationships, Goddess energy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I noted in my initial impressions that this reminds me of Something Voodoo This Way Comes (thanks Liz!) and that fragrance sold out in, like, five seconds. Persica has that same deep golden aura to it, for me, as the fruit is given depth and grounding by the frankincense. It is rich and mature, the flesh of the fruit with a quality of ripeness but not juicy. I'm imagining a half-eaten peach left on a gold-edged plate, as she's giving that lucky stableboy what for. There's some zing from the ginger, but it adds to that impression of haughty wealth. Thankfully the dairy notes didn't go sour on me, they're just enough in the background to buoy the peach. If you're a peach lover and you want something a little more decadent, oh you need this, I think.

    Get Stuffed!

It was just the tinest dab too, I held my hand behind my back for a while because otherwise it would have been too much for me.
  3. Gourmands (vanilla or honey-based scents) are also some of the best covers for EoW.

    Get Stuffed!

I brought this one for Quince to smell during the Weekend of Birthday Debauchery. He's a man who loves his meat so I thought he'd appreciate it and after he sniffed it he insisted I wear it (Friday evening). I dabbed a bit on the back of one hand, as I was already scented with Neanderlicious. To me, it mainly smells like gravy, like cooking meat. He said it reminded him of Sunday dinner growing up; he thought he might find it sexy after I'd had it on a while, but decided that it was "too Oedipal to truly enjoy." He was rather drunk when he said that, so it was a fairly hilarious admission if only because he had to make more than one attempt to actually say the word Oedipal.
  5. Oh my goodness I can't believe I left out Down and Dirty for Him!* My ur-male fragrance!! After Super for Men/UN that is my very favorite. I like it more than Quince does, he doesn't mind wearing it but he says it's only for me lest other people think he's a debauched rogue. "But that's the whole point!" I cry. *I'M A LITTLE DISTRACTED TODAY.
  6. EXACTLY. I told the story of when Q wore it once for his daily errands and he was severely freaked out because people kept talking to him. He's not a chit-chat with strangers kind of person at all. And when I've had him wear it and we're not in bed or the middle of a scenario? I literally cannot pay attention to whatever we're doing because my brain is too busy shouting OMG TAKE HIM NOW NOW NOW! And then he's all, "Earth to Quim!" and I say "Sorry what?"

    Mapacho

Although this was created to be unisex, I would say that for most it will be perceived as a masculine fragrance. It is very smokey...that's the point of it, of course, but that quality is very dominant - not just the scent of the tobacco and the other elements which compliment the heart. It's the kind of scent which is so appropriate for this time of year (in the Northern hemisphere), when the scent of woodsmoke and burning leaves and other vegetation becomes part of the landscape no matter where you might live. The spices are a little sharp, however, upon first application; but they tone down considerably after drydown. The final stage is a smooth sort of fragrance, still smokey but also the tonka gives it a nice warm quality. As far as the greener notes, I can smell the dogwood blossoms as a topnote in the vial, but otherwise they seem to be overwhelmed by the rest of it. I like it, though I think I'll have to let it age a bit before I wear it myself (unless a certain Limey decides he wants it for himself).
  8. I have the same favorites for Q: Super for Men (though we save this for playtime because I couldn't function if he wore it in public) UN (for all other times I want him to smell excellent without the mind-altering aspects of SS4M) Teddy Man (so incredibly wonderful scent and intent-wise) Sugared Forest (he enjoys wearing this as much as I enjoy him wearing it) Woodland Man (again, playtime...RAWR!) ...Everything Nice (we fight over this one) Lizzy's Tizzy (as I keep saying, this smells so great on him, wonderfully unisex) 'Til Death (one of those that smells better on him than on me) He likes: Sugared Forest Frog Ares Ajia's Castle Walls Miss Right...Now ...Everything Nice (still scheming to make off with my stash)

SUCCUMB TO THE CAKE. Sorry for all the gaffes, I swear I know how to spell. *facepalm*

    Fallen Angel

Uh yeah, that was me. Heh, I suppose if I actually described the Fallen Angel in question it would have been more obvious.

    Fallen Angel

Fallen Angel What do men really want? A good girl? A bad girl? The answer is: YES. A halo replaced by a top hat, white wings replaced by black, a smile replaced by...a smile, a knowing smile. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Magickal Meanings of Ingredients: ITALIAN CRÈME CAKE~ Ritual or celebration, wedding cake, Wigilia or Vigil feast. STRAWBERRY ~ Attraction, draws fortunate circumstances in all areas of your life. VANILLA ~ Aphrodisiac, inspires happiness, playfulness, sexual arousal, lust, vitalizing. MILK/BUTTER/CREAM ~ Nurturing, soothing, eases troubled relationships, Goddess energy. SUGAR ~ Attracts love, luck, sweetness, riches, lust inducing. ORANGE SPICE LIQUOR ~ Eternal love, magnetizing, intoxicant, lowers inhibitions, lust. MUSK ~ Self-confidence and strength, sexual attractant, heightens passions and arousal. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So many NOMable scents this month! This starts out with the strawberry-topped Italian creme cake, very rich and sweet but not overly so. It is very much itself, there's nothing which says to my nose close but not quite.... The other elements unfold slowly, like Salome's dance, but the best thing is...THERE IS CAKE. The cake is always there, even as the other notes have their wanton way with your olfactory abilities. This little scenario popped into my head, based on what I'm assuming is TNJ's copy for the scent. *** Oh the things I do for Fine Art, she thought, resting her museum-weary feet in a nearby cafe, treating herself to a slice of cake and a cappuccino. One requires sugar after ingesting a thousand years worth of culture. The cake itself was a work of art: a generous slice of white fluffy foamy batter baked to a slight golden tinge, lush with ripe sugared strawberries and thick buttercreme frosting with a hint of orange liqueur. The sights and sounds all around her (Italy is rather a noisy place sometimes) receded in the experience of that cake upon her tongue, seducing her tastebuds as everything she had ingested in the country had done. She closed her eyes as various fantasies came to mind involving cake...from the purely virginal to the wholly salacious. A wedding day: hearts and flowers and vows and laughter and...cake. Here's to dolce, to sweetness in life. A wedding night: skin and satin and whispers and laughter and...cake. Here's to dolce, to desire in love. She sucked the fork, smiling. But somewhere underneath all that sweetness was...something not so sweet. Something much more sinful than even an incredibly fattening piece of cake. She opened her eyes and an angel was staring at her from across the square. He perched on the edge of the fountain which resided at the center of the square - one of his brethren immortalized in marble, trumpet to his lips - and his expression was mischievous, a smirk to see her enjoying the cake. But he was a angel in name only, she imagined, his looks so flawless but within those wide eyes which took in every aspect of her she knew temptation warmed his heart and burned as a beacon calling the one his gaze turned upon. As he approached her table she felt her skin flush, her own allure came into play. And he was drawn to her, the shadow to her sun, the adventure awaiting all in the scent of him as he too put the world to shame. His masculine warmth was a blaze in the deepest night, as if they were somewhere all alone, nothing between them, instead of in this seemingly ordinary day. "May I have some cake? It looks so...tempting." "And what do you know of temptation?" He produced a dark soft feather, tickling the tip of her nose. She gasped, frozen with fork in midair. "I believe you are going to learn. But you'll also learn I too can be tempted. And when I am...there's no stopping me." All the art she had viewed was merely scribblings and scratchings compared to the absolutely beautiful sight of the Fallen Angel, tasting sweet cake in the bright afternoon. ***

    Buns of Cinn

Mods: can we move this over to the review section please? OMG SO GOOD. Like if your skin were its' own Cinnabon. But then the actual pastry notes subside somewhat to reveal the cinnamon heart and this is a lovely warm rich cinnamon which isn't too sharp or powdery, just delicious. It actually reminds me of a certain scene in Exit To Eden (the novel)...if you've read it and remember it then the words "cinnamon butter" should be enough to remind you. In the final drydown this becomes more of a creamy cinnamon perfume and it's wonderful, it takes that gourmand template and goes beyond. Again, I know who's going to go wild over this one!
  14. The new phone books are here!I CAN HAZ SMELLIES!!!11 Loco en la Luna Wow, this is really interesting...the sage plus the sweet notes gives it an unusual sense of weight. Fallen Angel Made of NOM and YUM and WIN. Eye of the Storm I mainly get the "demolished greenery." But aquatic lovers will be squeeful, I think. Mapacho *dreamy sigh* Very complex, though, can't be pithy with this one. Dark Seductions III: Lavender variant Lavender lovers this is for you! But it is dark. Get Stuffed! OMG MEAT. Seriously. Wax Poetic Mmm spicy and deep, but not in a spice rack kind of way. Buns of Cinn NOM NOM NOM The Empress of Persica Ooooh so nice...like Something Voodoo except slightly softer. Tabby It has a aura which reminds me of Bosom Bows but it's not, of course. PEs I done gots to smell: -Lorien's Forest Floor It makes me think of a garden in the morning before the dew has dried, a lovely clean fresh outdoors scent. The bluebell is a topnote on me, it lasts about ten minutes and then I get the damp earth-and-plants scent. -Shelly B's Winter Sweater This is a strange mix of metallic and smoky on me, darn it. I don't know what it is that's going weird, maybe the "Christmas candle" notes. I know there's musk underneath but, the other notes are louder than the combined shriek of kids waiting to see Santa at the mall.
  15. No reason why you should...there are plenty of people here older than you. Like me, for example. But I get that you're teasing, heh.

    WANT

Yeah using the search engine doesn't always work, unfortunately. WANT
  17. *edit* Whoops, I really need to adopt reading comprehension before I die. Stone Cougar is the unscented pheromone blend. Phero Girl Cougar Potion is the scented version, with grapefruit (to assist with creating a youthful glamour), amber, sugars and musk plus the pheromone mix. There were two previous brews of PGCP, this is the third. I'll leave this part anyway: We don't know, exactly. Stone Cougar is a proprietary blend so we don't know what all the ingredients are. However, as Mara requested a replacement for Pharmacom's original formula, I think we can safely assume that it shares many of the same molecules.
  18. Yes your Tangy Ylang was really nice, especially as a carrier for Stone Cougar.
  19. Maybe this is just me, but...you don't need pheromones for everything. When you're sick you need to rest...if you have problems with resting then aromatherapy is more appropriate, IMO. Pheromones are to enhance a situation or a mood but they're not meant to be a fix-it for anything we're not patient enough to endure in our lives.
  20. I believe (M will correct me if I'm wrong, of course) that the original PGCP had white grapefruit and then the second brew was both white and pink to sweeten it up just a bit (but retain the tangy/juicy quality).
  21. If you are a member of the Androtics community they might have more information if you run a search on their board...until someone here has the time to elaborate.
  22. Heh, you just described Yule Snuggle, mostly. If I happen to get a sniffie and I get it in time to take with me, I'll let you know what Q thinks of it on me after next weekend.

    Cocamama

Oh this reminds me...I really like this on Q although he thought it was a little too feminine but the green and earthy notes are sooooo nice on his skin. It made me want to pounce...RAWR!
