  1. And considering that most of the leading perfumers of the world are men? Not effeminate at all. (Interestingly enough, artisan fragrance is very much the territory of women.)
  2. If you go back through the reviews you'll see I'm the one who usually wears the male fragrances first. This is a classic fougere to my nose, but with violet instead of lavender. Even with the floral aspect it is very male to me. When the violet fades and I'm left with the sandalwood and moss, it is very much *purr*. It reminds me somewhat of Alternative Breeding's Dig Deep, which is also a dark and earthy type of violet scent. I didn't get a chance to smell it on Q yet but I did give it to him to wear, I figured it would be fitting for a visit to Merrie Ole.
  3. Hi. When you post reviews, you'll want to do a search first to find the proper thread (unless there isn't one). I realize this one might have been hard to find because it was posted with the way the name is, as one word. Northshore for men
  4. I've never eaten spice drops, but this does remind me of spicy Christmas candy. Cinnamon and crystal sugar, very festive!
  5. I imagine Beccah is referring to the Leather pheromone blend. The Down & Dirty scents are pretty much as you describe except the male version doesn't have any musk.
  6. It sold out in, like, five minutes I think.

    Eye of the Storm

I'm giving this to Quince, he loves "fresh" scents like these. As I've stated repeatedly I can't do aquatics, or only certain kinds. But this is interesting because I get much more of the green characteristic of it. I bought him a bottle of Alternative Breeding's Earth Meet Sky recently because it's the same kind of scent: with rain, grass and soil. But that one is very watery while Eye has more green to it. I can see guys liking this one a lot if they like to smell clean.
  8. Yeah that describes my initial feelings regarding Red and Black, which is why I started layering them together.
  9. I do! And of course depending on which direction you want to go you can always add a dab or more of something more overt.
  10. Oh absolutely. As a long-time lover of fragrance and artisan perfumery I often draw a parallel between perfume and wine: both go through so many different permutations between their life in the bottle and exposure to air/your palate (wine), air/your nose and skin (perfume).
  11. Phero Girl: Cougar Potion is the original name of the fragrance, which has been shortened to Cougar Potion. It contains the Stone Cougar pheromone mix which is proprietary so we don't know exactly what's in it, but it's a safe bet that it has at least some copulins as it's a social-sexual mix for women.
  12. Well thanks! Pheromones are all about feeling good...whether it's you or other people.
  13. Got a sniffie of this, and fig is an "earthy" note for me anyway, so it's difficult to discern the difference, heh. I get the fig and the sugar more than anything, I'd say. Really nice if you're a fig lover.
  14. LP Number Three is sold out, I think.
  15. I would say La Vie is the only which is obviously foody in that it smells like coffee and biscotti. And some people get a very strong maple vibe with UN. But Down & Dirty for Him has more of a scotch-and-cigars vibe although some people might get sweetness from the tonka bean and anise. Otherwise it's all classic masculine notes blended in different enticing ways. And that's the important part; yes men like smelling good but WE like you smelling good even better! Enjoy!
  16. Yes it is. But I figured no one would expect any less of me.

    Buns of Cinn

Do you have nut allergies? It's probably either the pecan or the wheat flour accord, going strictly by the ingredients listed.
  18. Gingerbread, eggnog (to a lesser extent), and pumpkin pie all have the same spice base, so really the spiciness is very much a holdiay vibe, I think. But G&L is most evocative of gingerbread to me, with just the slighest bit of creaminess. I love gingerbread fragrances, although it's been difficult for me to find many that weren't all spice. I like the dense cake quality to it as well, and this makes my brain say mmm gingerbread so that's good enough for me. As I noted in the new releases thread, the Lace blend makes me giddy horny/loopy and I'm hoping that my foody EST junkie is going to enjoy it as much I do and stuff my stocking! (he needs a Santa hat)
  19. BAM has more cops than LAM, I know that. BBM doesn't have as many cops as OCCO (I don't believe any of the cops-based fragrances do except possibly Phero Girl), but it was created as a cops cover so I figure it may have as much as, say, Nakai Nectar or Tail.
  20. Psst! LAM, BAM and Cuddle Bunny all have cops too. But I would say, depending on what kind of impression you want to make, go with either Heart & Soul or Boheme Femme (Intellectual Woman). I'd save Garland & Lace for the second date.
  21. Ginger lovers, I think you will really like this. Spiced fruit with a lovely warm ginger note. For me the fruit has that baked aspect on my skin, whereas in the vial I get more pear/caramel, but very appropriate for the holidays/winter! So after the Mistress has delivered her punishments, she can kick back in her Workshop of Perversion with a dish of her favorite dessert and thank the Universe there are so many bad boys in the world...

    Fallen Angel

I thought I had raved enough for everyone. I'm (impatiently) waiting to see which one Q will like better: Buns of Cinn or Fallen Angel. He loves anything which reminds him of cake, which means either way I should be NOMed repeatedly. :mail:
  23. Yeah I know...I said that because I - as the Empress of Oversharing - can't resist teasing Pony. The "didn't even know" thing is in regards to the "Pet Clothing" section at Walmart. I have a knack for a good phrase, I do.
