  1. Late in my welcome but glad you made it here!! You are going to have a great time and it sounds like you got a great start on pheros/scents.
  2. After reading all of the reviews I expected that I would get a lot of maple type notes which is a great thing because I love that note and everything I've tried with it in the perfume. However, it's strange because my first thought was that this reminded me of Sex & Violins. I'm thinking it's the honey. Is it just me? ETA: I pulled out S&V and I have to say that initially I still get that feel of similarity but Raven Moon dries down softer, creamier. S&V is very forceful. I could see wearing Raven Moon as the day version, S&V for night.
  3. Oh my gosh, just got my box today so and this was one of the ones I had to try... throw out the window the need to let them sit and get over travel shock, that was not going to happen. So... I totally get the cold stone feel...that hit me first when I rolled it on. I actually could imagine putting my nose close to cold stone and how that would smell... kind of weird, almost like a bit of ozone, it's airy. Then I get the florals and strangely, they smell cool as well - not warm and sunny like Summer Belle or other florals that remind me more of summer and spring. I can completely picture taking flowers to a cemetery on a cold day, smelling them along the way and gets sniffs of cold air mingled with the flowers being placed on a headstone... sort of like this: I love this one!!
  4. I'm with you both on OCCO White. I love layering that and BBM with other things but I can't wear them alone. They add a nice sparkle to other scents though so I love them for being able to expand my collection by changing up the scents a bit. I need to try OCCO Blue one of these days. Hoping to just try a sample first though just to check and see. OCCO Red I think you will enjoy Phoenix. I adore LP Red and for me, OCCO Red is almost identical aside from a sparkling bit of brightness from the apricot. I was afraid it would change it but it doesn't. It makes it even a little better. OCCO Black I actually like more than LP Black!! Can't wait to hear your thoughts when they come in!!
  5. I definitely think this is a must have FB if you love the scent. It's a perfect combo with SS4W. Although I've been trying to test out and widen my repertoire with other perfumes, this is always the first one I want to grab. It actually works during the summer as well. I wore this a lot when it was 118 and above and it clings nicely without being overbearing and still has that amazing staying power even when you are melting. So glad that you two are part of the MRF Lovers Club!!
  6. Welcome!! I think you will enjoy being here and I'll be looking to read your reviews once you've had a chance to try out Leather (one I keep looking at but haven't gotten yet)!
  7. Yep, I lied. I couldn't help it. It was like Edgar Allen Poe's The Tell-Tale Heart except there was no heart, just the soft ticking of a clock hand saying the sale would soon be closed. It was a sound that no one else seemed to notice but me and the madness could be soothed by only one (more) thing... Flambé.
  8. The way I look at it, take a month off, relax... enjoy the smellies and then along comes autumny holiday loving new scents. I've got a start to some Christmas and birthday shopping for December and come October, I'll be doing my 12 hour night shifts for awhile... unless something amazing comes and takes me away like Calgon.
  9. Every time I've said I was finished, I came back. Been doing some Christmas/Birthday shopping and general secret stashing but now, I actually feel like I finally got everything I could want. Some I won't ever be able to try other than maybe a sniffie from a kind person or a fortunate look at the trade threads (and to the ladies that I have bought from on the trade thread Thank you!!) but I have to say that regarding scents, I think my collection is now full of some of the "Best of..." series, "Most Dirty Naughty..." series and everything in between. The spell potions I most wanted, I was able to purchase and because Mara is the consummate professional (and heard the gnashing of teeth), I was able to get a couple more that I wasn't able to the first go round. I think I'm now ready to move forward. I can. I feel it. I don't know what awaits but dangit, I'm going to smell fantastic doing whatever it is.
  10. As I come across anything that I hope will help Mara get some extra bottles sold, I want to share and this is my newest one (Shelly's Winter Sweater and Pirate and the Maiden being my new "who knew" fave scents). If you have liked Heartland this to me is the night time version. Whereas Heartland is sunny, driving through the country, cut sweet hay and all the fresh air you can handle, this one has the hay note but reminds me of night in that same country place, the coolness has brought the fresh sweet fragrance of blooming flowers floating on the air and how relaxed it feels after such a beautiful day. I expected it to be along the lines of G String or Dirty Pretty Thing (it is named Rowdy Raunchy and Rude) but this is actually anything but. Bottles available now at your local awesome LP annual sale!!
  11. Welcome to the group!! You've got a great collection and like others have said, can't wait to hear your thoughts! You are going to have a great time here.
  12. I am bumping this thread since the last of the bottles are currently on sale. I can't stress enough how much I have come to love this scent. I wasn't sure at first if this would make a good work scent with the rum as a note but I decided to try it anyway. This is so absolutely yummy, it was perfect. At first, it was very coconut and vanilla, slightly sweet with brown sugar and a touch of tobacco. I was waiting for the rum to blast out and it never did. It's very subtle on me and never shoves the others aside to come to the forefront. There is completely a breezy island feel that I can't put my finger on but it was just such a soothing happy scent and I was so glad I decided to wear it today. After this last order, I will have three bottles and probably would keep going but I need to stop. So, just wanted to bring it up to everyone because this really is a gorgeous scent!!!
  13. I love this analogy!! I felt like this just this morning... what do I wear? What have I not shown love to in awhile? Who needs to be loved and petted? So glad you are enjoying your perfumes/pheros!! You will never be bored or run out of scents to choose here.
  14. I'm excited to see if I get the stone feel and graveyard feel!! I got it because it sounds very earthy, organic and I really love those scents - especially during fall. Fall always is my most favorite time of the year - the way the air smells, smoke rising from fireplaces, leaves, cool earth, woods. Even the colors are my most favorite and generally what I have a closet full of: browns, blacks, brownish-reds, SOME oranges, olives. Spooky isn't a bad scent. A surprising one I like is Ectoplasm. I finally got a full bottle of that one too.
  15. I would definitely say YES!! I am one of the few that would probably say it's not my fave by itself but I HAVE to have a bottle on hand because, for me, it is the most magical layer partner. It layers perfectly with so many scents, can boost the vanilla in scents that might have a little note you don't particularly like AND it boosts your collection that much more by adding little twists to the scents you already own.
  16. Thanks Stacy. I just meant the theme of the month and the things you would see. I don't need to smell like ghosts, pumpkins or a cemetary, per se, just the idea of a cool Autumn.
  17. I've never gotten a sniffie of this one and I went back and forth on whether I wanted to try it out. I love autumn scents, Christmas scents, any holiday scent really and I finally bit the bullet after reading everyone's surprise (or not so surprise) love of this. I can't wait to try it!! Since there's no real decipherable changing of the seasons here, I can't wait to wear this to remind me of falling leaves, jack-o-lanterns, ghosts and the coming of winter. And who knows what magic Mara has up her sleeve for the upcoming holidays!!
  18. He is quite correct. The counselors will point you to new stores where you can get shoes at discounted prices while also saving for LPs. They'll also provide all the support you need when you aren't sure if you would like that certain scent LOL
  19. Welcome, welcome!! Around here, you are perfectly normal. And wherever you choose to put them will shortly become very cramped and you will need more space! Can't wait to hear what you've liked and how it's worked. Good to have you!!!
  20. I have to ask, how do you find out how many bottles are left? I thought you added to your cart and then you could keep adding to find out where the cutoff is but I've placed some in my cart before and it went high enough that with one ill-timed click, I'd be owing Mara $14,000.
  21. It's very light too. My initial thought was that it would remind me of LP Red with that "in yo face" cinnamon scent but this is remarkably light and close to the skin. This might be a cinnamon I could wear to work.
  22. This is such a great idea. I remember having sweet smelling dolls... like Strawberry Shortcake and Apple Dumpling. And you're right, they did have their own unique smell. I never would have thought of doing something like that!! So glad it turned out the way you had hoped.
  23. NuTrix and Stacy are correct about the silicone. I picked up a bottle and tried it out on some scents that tend to either disappear rapidly or for certain notes that tend to disappear rapidly. It does work!! I use Q-Tips and cotton balls to put on my skin, let it dry and then roll the perfume. I usually only use it for those notes in perfumes that disappear after 15 minutes and leave all the other notes to wonder where it went - chocolate is a major culprit for me.
  24. Welcome Crystal!! It sounds like you got a great sampler. The only one I haven't tried is Raven Moon so I'd love to hear your thoughts! I know that everyone will be along soon to offer their great advice but I would say that what I have found is that you will find that everyone's chemistry here does its own thing. What notes and percentages work on one can be completely different from another. When I started, I thought I would find kind of a black and white "Use three sprays" or "Two rolls from bottle" and have it work for pheros but I soon found that sometimes works, most of the time not. It really can be a trial and error situation but definitely fun experimentation!! When it comes to the perfumes, I would say start light and work your way from there. I've had some that I thought were really light and unassuming and found that they last long and loud!! Darker scents, just the opposite. Skin chemistry will make everything you try uniquely "you" so experiment and always feel free to ask questions!!
  25. I agree Blackcat, great review. You're right about Sneaky Clean being a non-threatening scent. It has a very high end clean smell and not overtly sexy, sort of like smelling like the Ritz Carlton!! And yes, SS4W is the bomb!! So glad that you are finding scents and pheros that work for you... no doubt that you're finding there are some great ones for just about every occasion!!
