  1. I tried my sample last night and I really like this a lot. Dolly's right, not like EOW, it's a sexy honey, mildly sweet. I haven't tried for effects yet but I could totally see having a bottle of this just to give some scents a bit of a sexy edge. I can still smell it this morning and it does have a bit of feel like OCCO SLF. Ok, want a bottle. Think this would go great with LP Original.
  2. I'm on the fence about this one. I agree with the LV's and Halo's posts... it's very strong and I'm not sure if I like it or not. I may let this one sit for awhile to mellow out. It is vaguely medicinal but in a strange foody, sweet sort of way. If it turns out like Stacy's thoughts of Act of Violets... which I think is a great scent for lavender, then I just need to let it age and bloom. Or else it will age and bloom it's way into the trade thread along with Everything Nice.
  3. Not a stupid question at all! I asked MissHazel that not too long ago. The way you can tell is to add a large number of bottles to your paypal cart. When you go to check out, it will tell you whether there really is that amount of bottles you can order or if there are only such and such amount of bottles left. Of course you want to make sure you empty out your cart but especially with big sellers like the spell potions, I've added like 30 and when I signed in to "check out", I was able to see there were only four left. If I missed any steps, someone let me know!!
  4. OMG, I can't agree more. I wear very few rose perfumes but this one confuses my senses. I get the rose but there's fruit, a feel of having a wonderful drink. I didn't think I'd say this but it has that same sort of sparkle of scented Cougar that I love so much and I wasn't expecting that. This is more like a feeling of sparkly bubbles in champagne. Definitely bright and classy...
  5. MDC, I agree. This and Tara N Tula ended up being my most favorite of October. When I ordered November's NR, I picked up an extra bottle because I've already used it quite a bit. I didn't think I would necessarily like apple scents (smell like apple juice anyone?) but as is par for the course, Mara created such a luscious, grown up scent that still evokes such warm thoughts of your best days of autumn as a kid. I think it'll still be great come spring and summer too... if it lasts that long.
  6. I got my box today and as expected, I ripped the wrapper off of this one in record time. And as I expected, there is something intoxicating about this scent that I knew would make me love it. It does, in a way, remind me of Katarina Suit but not in a dark, vintage wood, old style man's office sort of way. I can smell the anise, there's a background leather, the feel of alcohol but not overpowering. It seems a bit earthy, airy, sweet. I am fascinated by the scent of this. It's seductive but in a very playful, teasing way. So far, I am loving it!
  7. My goodness DD... you still haven't tried it? LOL I love this stuff. Any time you want to add a little "stormy weather" (hee hee) to your perfume, this really adds a little kick. Adds a bit of mist and humidity to your day... which you may not need where you live but we're still in the 80's so it's a nice switch-up.
  8. I know I'm late to this party but being 40 myself, I would say try many samples of things you think you will like and try all the great samples that Mara always provides with orders. I always thought I was a one note girl (vanilla) but some of the ones I've come to love the most are ones I NEVER would have considered sexy just from seeing the notes. Like so many others, the scented Cougar is such a favorite and it gives you a "shine" from the inside. I guess that's what I've come to find most here is that once you start shining from the inside, it starts becoming apparent on the outside and for everyone, that may be a little bit of a different scent. Cougar, LP Red and Rocket Fuel continue to be scents that stop guys in their tracks for me but I think in part it's because when I wear those, I FEEL sexy too. The pheros work great and as I have found, some are more sensitive than others. Some you will see hits from others, some the effect is all on you (that's a great thing too!). SS4W, Cougar (it really seems to work better in the scented for me rather than the unscented), Blatant Invitation, Open Windows... try the samples as many as you can because you may find that some won't bring what you are looking for but others will make you a lifelong devotee!!! So glad that you made it here because this is truly a great group of ladies and gents. I'm really excited to hear what ends up making YOU shine.
  9. Calii, that sounds so wonderful. LP Red is such a glorious scent. I need to see if I purchased a back up bottle. If not, I may need to do that before November 25th.
  10. Not sure why but I have a feeling this is going to be my "come from behind" favorite like Katarina turned out to be. Maybe its the leather and oud that's making me think that. Can't wait!!!!!!
  11. Good luck and best wishes on the upcoming move! Can't think of anything more exciting or nerve-wracking that packing and moving. You will definitely be missed but hopefully this is the move that will lead you to nothing but more exciting and blessed times ahead!!
  12. After October, I don't think I'll be getting a full set (famous last words) but then again...
  13. I think there may have been a few bottles left after the sale. I think I bought three or four because this smells so cozy but I was afraid of going overboard.
  14. I've heard the same in the past Honeycake but I think what Mara stated in that thread is yes, you shouldn't rub it vigorously (cops) but that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the smoosh method. If I can find that thread, I'll post it here because I know which one you are talking about. Here's the thread I read it at and probably you as well regarding cops: http://lovepotion.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=6356&hl=%26quot%3Brub+vigorously%26quot%3B&do=findComment&comment=167019
  15. I hope there's something with Leather in it. I've been wanting to try that one but with everything else, it keeps getting backburnered. I'm with you BB... I'm going to try and control my spending impulse. *yeah right*
  16. I was so looking forward to this one after all the talk of marshmallows and campfires. At first roll, it seems all marshmallow and sweet - very sheer on me but within a minute or two, I can start to feel the campfire come out: smokey wood. From that point on, that's all I smell - smoke... and maybe a teeny drop of sugar. I thought smoke was one my skin amps and in this one, oh my how it does. I don't think I'll get rid of my bottle though. I do love the smoke smell and think I'll be pairing it with some of my other autumn scents when I want it a little earthier. I'm also thinking that my skin must not like marshmallow root much because in both this and Flying Potion, I lose that note almost immediately. Especially with Flying Potion, that really makes me sad because that's such a lovely scent and unfortunately I can't douse to keep it present because of the phero. I might try rubbing silicone on application points and see if that helps either of them any.
  17. I wore this one today to work. I had my husband sniff it this morning and he and I both agree it's quite spicy with a bit of pumpkin rolling around underneath. For the first hour, I'm kind of "meh". It's nice but not a favorite but after a couple more hours, I absolutely adore it. The pumpkin pretty much disappears and I'm left with this very warm dark brown sugar.
  18. I do too!!! I'd definitely use the NOCO as a base but I have to say, the OCCO wins hands down for favorite between the two. It gives me a better idea for the future whether to go with or without now that I can really tell the difference.
  19. Sorry Eggers, hate to say it but I love this stuff. I wore it this weekend while out with my husband and I just felt so sexy in it. It's got an edge of naughtiness but strangely not overtly on me considering the notes. I think I saw someone mention that they could probably wear it work. I haven't quite decided yet whether I would do that because honey in general turns very sexual on me but I would definitely say it's on my list of scents when I intend on getting down and dirty. I'm thinking I should do more outages and be away for a couple weeks more often because that's all I've thought of for the past week. LOL
  20. After getting to try a little sniffie of the OCCO Blue, I got one each: NOCO and OCCO. I'm wearing one on one arm and the other on the other arm. Boy, can I tell the difference!! The NOCO is coming across very fresh and outdoorsy. I can say "Yes, that's Blue" but less sweet. The OCCO, holy cow, I smell cops big time. On first roll, it smelled strongly... STRONGLY. Twangy and almost vinegar like. I think I can smell it more in Blue than I have in any other scent I've worn! If I had any questions before, I can honestly say now that cops do change a scent. Along with the twang, it's maybe a bit sweeter. (?) It feels like it brings out the sweeter parts of the scent more because the NOCO strikes me as more tobacco and oakmoss (I'll assume since I've not smelled that on its own). Basically I don't get as much sugar in the NOCO. Now that the OCCO is drying down, I can tell that the cops is melding and not so powerful. I think I like it better. The twang really kind of adds something to the mix. AND, although it may be that I'm still just in super sexed up mode after two weeks away from my husband but I have to say, even when the cops were a tad obnoxious... it kind of turned me on sniffing my arm. That was different. I don't normally have such a strong sexual response myself from cops but now I can't stop sniffing. This could become my personal libido lifter. I wonder if he's recovered from this weekend.
  21. I tried this on yesterday. I LOVE the smell of this. The marshmallow root and licorice were two notes I was a little leery of but they smelled divine!! Only problem I have is that I can't smell it after I apply it. I'm going to have to try again and see if anyone else can smell it on me. Sprayed straight on, it was so lovely but after five minutes, I couldn't tell you where it went. I was sleepy from the previous night shift, trying to stay awake and enjoying some margaritas in the hope of sleep last night so I didn't stop to ask my husband if he could smell it. I did however accost him twice yesterday so either the phero worked some sexy magic or else I was just really happy to see him after two weeks.
  22. I wore this to work Thursday night. It's such a relaxing happy scent, it might be one of my favorites from this month. I had been kind of afraid of the apple and whether I would smell like apple juice but it blends SO nicely with the leaves and honey. It kind of reminded me of Heartland - but Heartland during autumn.
  23. My box is due to arrive tomorrow. Since everyone will be at school or work, I'm sleeping on the couch so I won't miss hearing the doorbell ring. Excited to try them all out!! Fleur, hope you get well soon!!
  24. Did I see correctly that we will get to have an LP Blue next year??? Ooooh, can't wait!! In the meantime, absolutely love the new labels!!
  25. Officially working on transitioning to night shift. So far I've made it to 1:30 am... six more hours to go. Just thought I'd check in and see if there were any new updates: *cricket chirping* Well then... I guess I shall go back to cleaning the bathroom.
