  1. The "Actor's Magic" blend which will hopefully be debuted soon is meant to replace Popularity Potion, IIRC.
  2. Like most of the unscented blends it's oil-based in a 1/3 oz roll-on bottle.
  3. I didn't either, which was why I compared it with another scent I did know (Dirty Sexy).
  4. This topic will probably tell you what you need to know. You're better off just using the roll-on directly on your skin rather than on your fingertip first, IMO.
  5. I would be interested in knowing how similiar the '07 and '09 versions are, given that was Mara's goal in rebrewing this time.
  6. The musk really makes the peach "pop" as it were...it's all RAWR I AM TEH HTO PEACH COMPOTE! The spices are also nicely hot and keep the dairy notes from going sour on me. It has a snuggly feel to me...but not tame snuggly, more like groping panting growling snuggly. :msn_red_fox_smilies-09: I never tried Voodoo, so my analogy still stands...this has a big fruity aura which smacks you in the face (like a velvet flogger) to get your attention and then settles down into deep dark take me now-ness much like Dirty Sexy did for me except this isn't as "loud" on me, thankfully.
  7. I think it's actually meant to be spiritual. Try again. :msn_red_fox_smilies-09:
  8. Since it's aquatic it might be a bit light for blending with a phero mix, but M&D would know best about that. In terms of intent/congruence it's best to go with something that provides a bit of "sparkle" but if the scent has that effect on you then that's as good a choice as any.
  9. As Ail always reminds us...it's about congruence, and that's Mara's point too (unless I'm missing something). But again, preferences...and people have definite preference in scent, not only what they like to smell like, but what they like others to smell like as well. If Quince had his way I'd smell like cake all the time. If I had my way he'd smell like smoke and leather and dark musk and patchouli and...uh, what was I saying? *ahem* I don't think there's anything wrong with trying different scent personas, as it were, but to have an impression/effect on someone, it's just as much about what works for them as what works for you. Scent is incredibly powerful, I think sometimes with the phero madness people tend to forget that. A scent can make as deep an impression upon someone as the chemical trigger of a pheromone, and one which they may consciously recall and associate with you forever.
  10. Usually the "pale" musks don't do well on me, but the creaminess of the coconut really enhances this scent. It's not entirely sweet, but it just feels like a fresh yet decadent skin musk. The day I wore this I liked it very much...a really nice Summer scent which isn't too heavy and lasts a good while.

    Soiled Dove

I'm a little obsessed with it, but I'm waiting to see if the tobacco comes out more in aging. It's the kind of dirty I like though, perhaps more than Bacchanalia.
  12. Yeah, hormones can definitely affect the way fragrance smells on you.
  13. DIHL = deer in the headlights It's what happens with the stupid horny. Did you shake both up, Liz?
  14. Yes, men have enough performance anxiety when it comes to sex in general that, for some men, if you have an aggressive vibe it may put them off because they feel they cannot meet your expectations no matter how hard they try. The male psyche is harder to discern because males are not naturally communicative; but this is something which plagues most men, especially over a certain age. And sex is one of those areas in which there is SO much societal conditioning involved that if we, as a society, do not seem to be living up to those unspoken-but-always-present expectations, then sometimes we shut ourselves off, just to be safe. It seems your guy's need to be "safe" may be why he responds better to EST. Mine is the same way, I couldn't be overtly sexual until he felt he could trust me, but once he felt safe enough to reveal his emotions then the rest fell into place. That's what I mean by true intimacy being the greater reward.
  15. And see, that's exactly what pheromones can't do. They can't change preferences or engrained behaviors. Speaking generally now... Everyone has preferences: some men like overly sexual women, others do not. Men are visual creatures, they respond to visual stimuli and pheromones can help exploit their feelings towards a mutually satisfactory conclusion, but only if a man is willing to go down that path (even if he does not specifically state this desire). There are behaviors which hold us back from true intimacy and pheromones can relax the barriers, smudge the boundaries, but only if the desire is there to begin with. For some men, despite their feelings and even desiring of what they see, certain behaviors make them extremely uncomfortable and therefore they will not respond to the heavy artillery, as it were. Over time, with lots of work - of which the use of pheromones is only a small part, only a tool - these behaviors can possibly be changed or tweaked, but only if trust is developed. Social engineering is a delicate process...don't bring a sledgehammer to fix a hairline crack.
  16. It's a putative or "experimone" and one of the descriptions is seems to increase lucidity and focus.

    EGG 2009

M&D want us all to know that we need to SHAKE THE BOTTLE first, okay? So don't forget! That goes for your trial vial too, of course. *shakes furiously* As I hoped, this EGG seems to have that same delicious marshmallow-amber-musk base to it, which makes it so fluffy, snuggly and soft. I think Ail described it as "ethereal" and that is definitely true. The chocolate, for me, is more of an impression or a suggestion...most prevalent in the wet stage and then a sort of creaminess in the drydown. But not, like, chocolate. I think aging will bring it out more, I notice that my bottle of original EGG has evolved into something more "there," for lack of a better term. I'm interested to know everyone's impressions on this one, because I wonder if that quality will be consistent for all of us, or if some will amp certain notes. As for the intent, well...I wrote something rather naughty this afternoon, heh. But that's why I slather!
  18. It's not necessarily about having other people smell you...it's about what smells good to you. If you do want some waft then pulse points, jugular notch, cleavage down to navel, back of your neck...all those places get warmed up and help the scent "bloom."
  19. Maybe it's just me...but what this reminds me of most is Dirty Sexy. It's like what I wanted Dirty Sexy to be originally: snuggly yet sexy. I'll return with more impressions once my sinuses begin behaving again.
  20. kbudish - my last order was placed on March 28th and processed on April 2nd, so maybe they just haven't gotten to that day yet, in a manner of speaking.

    NIGHT OF THE FAE

It's all a matter of metaphor. Or at least that's what my professors used to say.
  22. LOL, you mean you need a bottle of each, right?
  23. Yeah it sounds like you've got just the right characteristics with that mix: -the SS4W making you seem "brand new" to him -the cops and EST and b-nol in Sexology making him more open to flirtation and just feeling good in your presence...but not enough to cause the stupid horny. Now remember to exploit that response for all it's worth!
