  1. Uh yeah...that's it! Well in your case, that's definitely it! But that actually reminds me of being fortunate enough to attend one of Dr. Richard Feynman's lectures at Cal Tech in the mid-80s (the sister of my bf at the time was a student there) and wow...he was incredibly quirky (and hilarious) and I had no idea what he was talking about, really, but he still made it fascinating.
  2. That is amazing! So what was his impression of her original formula (heh, unless he felt strange sharing that with you)? Absolutely, that's how it works for me as well. When your brain is actively engaged in that activity of recognizing a scent and also whatever phero effect there is, then you recognize the "presence" in a different way than hours later. Especially since phero effects tend to wear off after a time anyway. I think copulins also tell us the same information, it's just that we process it differently than men do (obvious observation is obvious).
  3. I was thinking that too, because of the fruity cheese factor (which I get from Phero Girl). The scent of EoW I discern of late is more like ripe fruit about two or three days past the point of consumption. Just a very deep presence but not a stink.
  4. I edited my OP. bolding the "might not be SFW" part so as to preclude the issue, hopefully.
  5. I wonder if my rhyming dictionary even lists that... But seriously, the male version is tonquin musk.
  6. It rhymes with "Mulva." Might not be SFW depending on where you work.

    Black Candy

I was intrigued by this one...as I've noted, I enjoy anise in fragrance (Naughty Minx is one of my favorites just for that reason) but this is definitely more of a black licorice note on me, rather than the more herbal characteristic of anise (which I actually do smell in the vial). But it quickly goes elsewhere due to the violet. I can't generally wear "dark" violet scents because violet and I don't get along so well (she only behaves on me with a lot of sweetness, in my experience). There's something off in the background for me and I think it's the violet and anise together, creating something strange on my skin, alas. However (not that I'd dab this on Q, he dislikes anise, I've discovered) I think it's dark enough for a man to wear as well, even if was mostly licorice with his chemistry, the violet is not overly "flowery," to my nose.
  8. Heh, Ail says her man calls her "a Barbie with a brain."

    Mother Ship

My son likes this (although he is still leery of fragrance in general, he has a very sensitive nose); and I enjoy the milk-and-cereal aspect in the vial, but the citrus accord really amps on me, it reminds me of Lorien's Blueberry Bomb in that way. I guess certain candied notes do that with my chemistry (like pink sugar, for example). I think I'll probably add this to a bottle of (unscented) Goth Rosary hair & body wash for my son to use.
  10. It was my understanding that OCCO Gold is probably closer to Sugared Honeycomb in scent than to Phero Girl.
  11. Me too...my favorite LP is still Sugared Patchouli, it makes my toes curl with joy. *edit* Have I mentioned white flowers hate me with a fiery floral passion (except occasionally gardenia)? The magnolia is having its' evil way with my chemistry and I'm freaking out...I am literally amping it beyond any other note. You know, though, I do get the Angel evocation as well...that must be how the patchouli is reacting on me.
  12. This is like Naughty On The Nile's softer sister for me...a very evocative incense scent which encourages close contact, lingering on the skin but never wholly possessing it.
  13. Okay I just had a little OCCO brain cloud, heh. How about a creamy musk but with a fruit note (i.e. melon)? It wouldn't necessarily have to be vanilla, but something with a little weight to anchor the fresh/juicy quality of whatever fruit you use. Or is that waaay too complicated?

    Canary Faery

Totally fresh and light and lovely! It's got a "floating" vibe to it like Elevation Potion does, like the notes themselves are sort of floating above my skin as opposed to melding with/sitting on it. It's not sharp or soapy, not sweet, just clean and pure and soft. This makes a great work fragrance, I think, both in scent and intent, and you could layer it with something else for a little vavoom if you so desired. This would actually be a nice one for a SWS add-in, I think. *edit* Anyone who liked Sun Catcher would enjoy this; I think this is what I wanted the other to be (no soapiness from the white musk).
  15. This truly is an incredible copulin cover, I could not smell any hint of cops at all...however, the dairy notes in the scent hate me, I think. When I wore this for him, Quince huffed the back of my neck and said I smelled like baking, but he didn't seem to have any true objection (although you have to admit the male thought process is usually derailed by an erection anyway); but dairy notes can be so potentially iffy on me in general...BBM has a weird plasticky thing going on with my skin, sadly.

    Gemini

Quince wore this yesterday during the day and I think it's very nice on him although he claimed he couldn't smell it at all, just a sort of vague "there-ness" (his term). But none of the notes were particularly prevalent, it was just a nicely clean skin musk with his chemistry. I'm thinking maybe it needs some aging so that the particular notes can mature and make themselves known.

This is VERY subtle on me, I hope it amps on Q just a bit more in terms of the woods (he doesn't like to smell like citrus unless it's Monsieur Balmain), I guess we'll see what happens this weekend when I dab him. For me it's just the slightest bit woodsy but primarily warm clean skin, with a hint of citrus in the wet stage. Granted, I'm not that big on skin musks (although Christine's Tropical Musk is a recent exception) but this really is a good example of a unisex scent in that the overall impression is whatever your chemistry makes of it.
  18. Heh, OCCO Mardi Gras! Well I vote for pear, but didn't someone make an apple-and-something suggestion before when we were discussing the LAM line?

    Lava Rain

OMG I LOVE THIS! *squees, jumps up and down* I was really scared of the water (I know, I know, it doesn't make any damn sense) but it's a clean almost metallic tang underneath the other elements, like being near water as it permeates the atmosphere, but without the ozone sharpness many aquatic accords tend to have. All the rest of it is gorgeous smoky slightly sweet deep deep deep notes that just adore me and make me purr. Q will probably say this is too sweet for him to wear but damn it he's getting dabbed and that's all there is to it!
  20. I enjoy the scent, it really is invigorating, but it doesn't seem to "stick" on me, it lasts maybe an hour or less. I think I really need to slather because I'm not truly feeling the right vibe (or it could just be I'm an addled mess no matter what, which is fairly likely).
  21. This reminds me of chamomile tea, but more perfume-like. The sugar is sort of at the edges for me at first, but eventually it kind of folds into the rest of it. For anyone who would enjoy an herbal scent I think it's very nice, it would make a nice pillow scent for bedtime, for example.
