  1. I find the same thing - not just DH, who really does love it, but it seems as though all men just want to huff away when I wear this. Wore this the other day out running errands and I turned heads everywhere. It's sexy for sure, surely not dimestore-body-spray. But it seems to throw men over the top... I'm OK with that.
  2. Djac, I am also so very sorry to hear about your grandson. I hope you take the time you need to grieve and heal. My thoughts are with you.

    Buns of Cinn

OK DH and I were vegging the other evening, watching an embarassing Halloween movie on Lifetime called "The Good Witch" (October scent!) and Frumpy Townslady walks into Good Witch's little shop, picks up a bottle of essence, opens it and says "Oh, this smells like Cinnamon Buns" (November scent!). Good Witch says "Oh, that is an afrodisiac, here let me tell you how to score (or something like that)" By this time I am LMAO. I told DH some lifetime producer must know Mara & Danna. Honestly I think Good Witch was Mara: she didn't wear a stitch of black the whole movie, so that rules Danna out. Oh it ended with Frumpy Townslady being preggers, and glowing with happiness, and all the Frumpy Townspeople changed their mind about Good Witch and she hooked up with Widower Sheriff and they lived magically ever after... I cried a little... I am waiting to order my Buns of Cinn for my very own lifetime ending.
  4. Oh the descriptions wait is killing me. To get my fix, I just ordered a few sale samples - so I have pretty much tried everything on that huge list. I couldn't remember what some of them were like...I figure why not, I'll get another... I just realized I am a dolt. I should have added the monthly sample pack to that order....DOH!
  5. Hehehe I'm with ya there. Well they both seemed like good ideas at the time. Honestly I was besotted with both my ex's...at the beginning. DH is a keeper. Not besotted with him. More of a partner to him. That's the difference I think. I would not have chosen to actually marry again, but it meant a lot to DH, and I'm happy with my decision.

    Pomme de Poison

Yup right there with ya on that...and same for SUPERfw Smells like a metal pole in winter. If that is a smell one can capture. DH adores this one, and I can hardly stand to be in the same room with it. It has excellent sillage...
  7. To my nose this is just a light sprinking of cinnamon dust, like you would toss a touch on the foam of your cappucino...not heavy, lush in-your-face cinnamon. It's not a spicy blend at all. But if you are reactive to cinnamon...mightn't even a tad be too much?
  8. I am really partial to the purple logo (I recently found my inner purplegirl - my horse has matching purple accessories now, to the unending amusement of DH). But I suppose the purple theme is a touch feminine... It'll be nice to have it easier to navigate for sure. I can find anything, but a couple friends who are unfamiliar with the site leave the ordering to me b/c they can't find what they are looking for...not real good for internet business! Especially for those not very savvy at online shopping it can be confusing...
  9. Heh. I am a bitch. Really. Pushy, aggressive, dismissive of people who bore me. And most people bore me. Amped H&S in LP Red - it helped me get through DH's conference last week where I had to tolerate his puerile coworkers and mind-numbing colleagues. They flocked around me when I really wanted to swat them all away...but I was cool enough to tolerate it and smile and make vacant small talk. DH's gotten several comments since on what a dear I am....HAH! From one alpha-cat to another, Heart & Soul is a great softener...seems to strip away some of the intimidation factor, which might serve you well.
  10. Ewwww...so sorry. I am wearing this today and it is veddy veddy nice. Now after several hours I swear there is a woodsy drydown. First off it is rosy cocoa - dry cocoa, not creamy chocolate. It is probably softened somewhat by the cream, but I don't get milk chocolate sort of vibe (which is good). And just sweet enough without making my teeth ache. I really enjoy it.
  11. Hehehe - Oh! a peachy queen who will snap of your head off post-coitus and dine on it....I like, I like.
  12. Too Funny! I just sent the info on this to DH and told him that the only thing missing is BACON! His reply was "DO NOT order a bottle of this for me!" I thought he was more adventurous. Perhaps I will just have to be brave like you SWB, and wear it myself. Kinda like buck lure...
  13. Hehehe well Beccah then I guess you've got to feed the poor little beggar! Hmmm... Mapacho!!! I love tobaccy smells. Can't wait to try that! Empress of Persica huh? That's peachy queen! Tabby - yeah can't guess at that...but with Dominance Eye of the Storm? Ozony atmospheric?
  14. I am a wimp and probably won't be brave enough to try that one, but I am sure DH will be ALL OVER that one...you've listed pretty much his greatest weaknesses - all there in one line of notes...

    NOX 2009

DH tried this, as NOX is one of his favorites (playfully called X-On, due to his dislexia reading the bottle early one morning...so this one we called Valdez). Oh NOX 2009 is very very lovely. As mentioned above, has a sharper, higher note. A clear ringing note that was absent in the original. DH put some on and then we went outside to do some fall cleanup - as he warmed up the scent wafted everywhere and drove me nuts...so beautiful and sexy. The throw on this lasted all evening - he filled the room with the scent, and it even lingered on his wrist the next morning. Definitely worth it's own bottle, as it is a sister to the original with a character of its own.
  16. I'm with djac here...I adored the sticky cotton candy smeared on tight black leather pants of the original... This one goes on heavily pumpkin funnel cake, and stays fairly foody for a good while. Eventually I do get the aromatic drydown. I'm trying to decide whether I love it or not. Maybe I just need time to let go of my preconceptions of Santa Carla.
  17. Upon application, this perfume slammed me into the WayBack machine....it smells on me (at least to my memory) exactly like White Linen. Now this was a fragrance my mother chose for me as my "first" perfume - I had the bathoil, powder, sachets, cologne, you name it. So it is forever imbedded in my preteen memory. Looking at the described content, Sassy Sibylia doesn't seem to have much in common with White Linen, but that's what it evokes for me. Very much powdery, but a strong powder. Can a powder be assertive? Then this is. Has stayed true for several hours now. And I've gotten 3 unsolicited comments on Sassy Sibylia, so evidently it is congruent...
  18. Have you ever tried any of the Love Potion seasonals or variants? They are all based on the original base which is vanilla, amber, patch, misc other magically delicious flower/greens. If I recall Mara said the patchouli she uses in the LP's is verrrry aged and not your run-of-the-mill. Generally, I am neither an amber nor a patchouli fan, but I do love the Love Potions, in all their variations. Might want to give it a try...

    Skelly Head Flambe

So DH swiped this bottle first thing. I think he wants to be Baby Drac... On him, the brown sugar amped big time at first - it always does in any perfume with it in it. But that settled down and it was spicy wood...and my juvenile mind just loves that statement. So I just spoke with DH, and asked him how he likes it and his reply, not surprisingly, was "I closed 2 cases today." OK. Oh - and it smells good. And then he quoted Sling Blade.... I suppose that is as close to a male review of an LP as I am going to wrangle out of him... Swipe it on your man - it smells good.
  20. OK - I am Grumplestilskins. I don't care much for this. On me it has a very bland floral perfumey smell, with a slightly sour undertone. It IS dainty and feminine...a light floral.
  21. Oh I didn't realize I had never reviewed this.... Well Gothicangel beat me to getting this one as a PE - I have a Cinnamon Vanilla Latte candle that I adore and I wanted to be able to roll it all over myself! Gothic Latte captures it perfectly. A yummy strong coffee scent, but with the cinnamon and vanilla it is just incredible. DH and I squabble over who will wear this one...
  22. I. LOVES. THIS. Did I never smell LP Autumn 07? Can't remember.... This I want to roll myself in. Dry and bright, sweet with that fantastic LP patchouli undertone. Orange blossom (not generally a favorite of mine) sharpens it up to lend a crisp fall air element. Might be my first alcohol-ized version, as I think it would be wonderful spritzed on my winter sweaters. Did I mention I adore this?
  23. Ah Cheesy - I'll send you a touch of my PG Dom - I have very little left but never wear it any more. You can compare/contrast!
  24. On application, this was cute and sweet -vague fruitiness and a watery, thin feel. Very nice. After drying down for a few hours, it has gone mostly to sweet-tart fruity on me. Smells like the inside of the sweet tart envelope after you've emptied it. A nice little scent, but turns a bit "artificial," for lack of a better word, on me.
  25. At first application I get a huge PG Dominance blast. Wowsers. Must be the chocolate and rose... After dry down it is still faintly rose, but now it has developed a soft spiciness, and a delicate dusting of cocoa powder. It is much softer and more melded than Dominance is on me. Very ethereal (lovely word, luna) and beautiful. Glad I got a bottle.
