    Offering

Isn't that the prettiest album cover ever? Her music is meh-pop, but that cover stole my heart. I dabbled a bit of Offering on a few minutes ago. I like it, but it is very subtle...not strange, eh, but subtle. Very close to the skin.
  2. This is going to be the add-in in DH's next bottle. He likes Miss Right Now too - keeps it at work to dab on just before he has to see anyone "difficult" Now just to choose the fragrance....hmm....

    Offering

Oh I have worn Offering a couple of times. It is a hard scent to describe. Soft and close and gentle, with just the tiniest flicker of...copal, is it? So you don't forget the intent. I love Genda (marigold) attar, which to me is a slightly...slippery/slick scent. Yeah, I know, I'm a textural sniffer...
  4. Du lieber Gott im Himmel. This baby reaches right down to my girlie parts and gives them a little tug. Or maybe a push. Or maybe a slight circular...but I digress. This is the first time I've tried UN, as DH has SUPER and finds it a little sweet for his tastes (but then who cares about his tastes, right?) UN, while slightly less sweet, still has that gorgeous pipe tobacco, and is lightened up a touch by the lavender. It is still a fragrance that makes me trail zombie-like across a room in it's wake. Limbic reaction. Yep, UN does it for me.
  5. I think this is just about the only male LP that DH hasn't tried yet. I have been remiss, obviously. He LOVES green woodsy scents, so I'll have to get a sample very soon. "Weird, but good". Gotta love teenagers. It's always amazing to note just how much our sense of smell influences our social interactions. It's such a primal reaction. I think aroma"therapy" (although that is a silly term for it - aroma-influence? aroma-engineering?) is very real. Glad your enjoying your aromaengineering! And thanks for the review of Excalibur - it's on DH's list now.
  6. Okay fine, I caved in to the LPeer pressure and put a sample in my latest order.... I will no doubt want to roll myself all in LP Black too. But really, LP:PD is mighty yummisexy.

    Thane

Man - that's taking a big blow to your manliness! Sweet?? Like an old woman?? Thane must not be for you, quietguy. But then everyone has different tastes. Did you like it, or did it strike you wrong?
  8. Oh I didn't review how this smells on DH. It is a manly man fragrance for sure. Strong throw, very masculine and woodsy. Has a tinge of "traditional" maleness to it. Both of us like it.
  9. Hehehe - don't you just love those WTF-moments, and then you realize "oh, it's the pheros!" I am still debating which I want to amp with Lace. Seems like a fun everyday blend.

    Eanie Meaney Miney

Eaney meaney miney sweet tart. Yep. I can't believe - something in this triggers a SweetTart moment. And I can't get past that. What's up, nose? So I put it on DH, thinking that it must be my skin. Nope. Sweet Tart...straight up. It's something in my head, because DH say sit smells "good" (which is as much description as you are ever going to get from him) and tells me I'm crazy. Sweet Tart.
  11. One thing DH loves best is that LP's smell so different on the skin than in the vial. When he first applies Down & Dirty, it smells like brown sugar...very weird. But after a couple of minutes the musk and tobacco start to bloom and VAVROOM. I like that one...a lot. The fun with LP is that everyone has very different tastes, different skin chemistry, and there is such a wide variety that every day can be a completely different olfactory experience. Look forward to reading your reviews!

    Blood on Snow

This was love at first sniff for me. First wet blast is that lovely currant, but softer than in previous perfumes. DO you know the silent stillness that mutes all things after a snowfall? It's like that...then the oakmoss and sugars creep forward and coat everything with a powdery feel. This musk, when it appears, at least on me, is a slightly dirty musk (surprising since I think of white musk as more of a clean feel). I may be able to detect the frankincense, and I am a franky 'ho, but it is just a dim gold feeling weaving through the rest. In this case, after drydown is when I get the high, cold note that is the snow - I imagine that's the almost metallic frankincense. Vaguely powdery, still and cool, with the drop of currant staining it with life.
  13. Shamefully, I have never tried LP Black..I don't think. But I like LP Red. LP: Passion & Desire goes on much like Sexology for me, all dirty brown sugar and spice. Then starts to bloom with the other LP notes. I could just roll myself in this until I was a gooey fragranced yummy-pop. Um...as far as reviews go that was useless, I know, but there it is.

    Mistress Christmas

Now this is one of my favorites. This smells just like Christmas to me! At first it goes on sweet and peary, but then after a bit I get a nice almost evergreen scent. It must be the ginger and frankincense combined. Lovely. Mistress Christmas lifts my spirits.

    Vamp Cafe

This is surprisingly ballsy berry on me. I didn't get any coffee note at all **pouts** but just very strong berry, with a tinge of sweetness underneath once it had settled on my skin for a while. DH really liked this, and I can see why as it has that very Danna-esque berry note that he grooves on.

    Sugared Moon Dust

This one I am testing out today. Yummy sugared sweetness. Toochachingly sweet. How can I NOT like something this yummy?!? I don't really get any particular note such as almond or pecan or anything. I can tell there is something floating around in there, but I can't pick it out. Just flossy sweetness...
  17. That's interesting because I was just reading a discussion of a (as yet unpublished) white paper on the link between sense of smell, luteinizing hormone, and kisspeptin's role in sexual dimorphism...blah blah...BUT there were comments by a respected pheromone researcher on how reactions are less sexually dimorphic than we might assume. So copulins, while we think of them as simply making testosterone levels rise, have other effects on both men & women as well - they induce relaxation, increase interest, increase excitement, and reduce anxiety. Was that TMI? On an similar vein, I am drenched in cops today (haven't really worn them in a while). Lunchtime found me at the local Wallyworld, in the obscure "Pet Clothing" aisle...and soon I found myself with a man on each side and another back to back with me. I might have an idea as to why these 3 gentlemen found themselves ENTHRALLED with tiny chihuahua down jackets...what do you think? I mean really - noontime couture shopping for your 5# doggies, you guys? Really?? As a social experiment, I agonized overly long on my choices, shifting up and down the aisle. They slowly floated in my wake, trying several times to make eye contact. They weren't quite up to the "conversation-starting" level, but they wanted to... In short (now I am suddenly concerned about rambling?) I think your cops signature makes them feel good, relaxed & optimistic. So they interact with you.
  18. Welcome back Mara! Gotta love the KSBF who annoints.
  19. Luna made me snort my coffee... LAM has alpha-androstenol (as does OW) which does make for chatty happy sociability. However, if OW makes you jittery, LAM might also. A-nol gives me a headache, often as not. H&S is a nice friendly vibe, and if you feel comfy with OCCO, go for it. Hey, it's a party. There will be plenty of social lubricant goin' around.
  20. Disclaimer - I have never combined them. I don't usually combine the mixes here with anything but cops or a touch of extra alpha androstenol, neat. For a party, I'd do Open Windows and Cougar. Nix the Sexology - waste of a good phero. IMHO it's a more intimate thing - a sexy dinner date or the like. If you want a party atmosphere, chat/flirt/shake ass, go with Open Windows for the feel-good, and Cougar for the strut. What scent are you covering with??? Sounds like fun! Let us know how the social engineering goes!
  21. Well, firstly, congratulations on your marriage! Have you sent Danna a message or called her to say that your package hasn't arrived? I'd make sure to do that right away. Just call. She'll help you. TimesSquareProductions@yahoo.com is the email. (818) 508-6525 is the phone. She is awfully busy right now, and probably won't see your message on this forum, it's best to just call directly.

    Buns of Cinn

After I recovered from my pout at DH for not liking Fallen Angel, I wore Buns of Cinn yesterday. I am on a rich pastry foodie kick, dangit, and he has to like it. Or else. It was such a lovely warm cloud around me all day, and when DH got home, he declared, vociferously, that this one he "really liked"...which is high praise. Although he denied that it smelled at all like cinnamon buns. Whateva. Oh and BI works...in case you doubted. Cha-ching.
  23. OK my crazy nose loves this one, but now after drydown and a few hours (granted it was only a tiny bit) I get a lemon cream frosting....too funny. My nose knows tis yummeh, but it's a tad confused on what it smells.
  24. Yeah - precisely why I reach for my LP Red with H&S when we head into town for weekend shopping. Yes, I live in the back of beyond, and I HATE crowded, rude, harried stores. I can become crazed and start making un-PC nasty comments not-quite-under-my-breath. Honestly, after about an hour, I am ready to start a bar brawl. With H&S, I have just a titch of tolerance. I sigh and continue about my business without going nuclear. I'll smile (OK, more like a feral grin, but close enough) at the rube who engages me in a serious discussion on the worth of various types of freezer bags, or the dude who enthusiastically tells me how to use cream of mushroom soup to make a pasta dish. True stories.
  25. Too cute. I can picture you in a cafe, Kafka in hand, black beret at a jaunty angle to indicate that while you are très ennui, you still have style. I wore this (and DH wore the homme version) last night to a small dinner. I didn't think about it until afterwards, but the women all gathered around the chair I was sitting in, even placing themselves on the ottoman, and leaning in, just enthralled with our conversation...which was a mundane conversation at best. They just seemed to want to linger and hold my attention. And praising me for...complex tasks...like cutting the lasagna straight. Comical I know, but I will take all the appreciation I can get. Of course, I love the scent. Especially on crisp winter evenings, nothing better than the bitter-sweet La Vie.
