    Sugared Magi

This started out very nice and bright, if more astringent than I was expecting, but after 1 hour it turned to laundry soap...I don't know which element turned on me, but I can't believe it! I'm so disappointed! I'll try it again another day, but I fear my skin refuses this one.
  2. Oh this very nice. I wasn't sure what to expect, but how often does one have a chance to try something which a parfumeuse has created for herself? And please, just look at the artwork - how could I resist? It is more sophisticated than I imagined - a warm scent, softly rounded, that stays close to the skin. I enjoyed it all day, and when DH got home he must have told me 10 times how wonderful I smelled... <ahem> yes we already know SS4W works - no need to go there It is not at all "in your face," (and I like those kinds of scents too...) and simple enough to warm up other fragrances as well. Thanks so much Mara for sharing this with us!
  3. I wore this this long weekend while I was baking bread and making cheese - Yummy Holiday Presents in Process! I thought it would be a perfect ode to giving thanks for the bounty of the holidays. This time I got the lilies...it was very floral at first. Then after a time it settled to that warm golden goodness. I wouldn't say it was exactly "foody", & I don't usually like to smell like food, per se. DH thought I smelled wonderful.

    WANT

I wore WANT yesterday and I didn't get powdery at all....I got a very similar vibe to Deliciously Wicked, but "softer" perhaps. I really liked it. I was sniffing away all day, upbeat and pleassant. And DH commented on how good I smelled when he got home (say 10 hours after application). It's very unusual for him to comment... Sometimes I think my nose is calibrated all wonky.

    Top Five

Well right now I'm busy trying all sorts of newbies, but my FAVES still are: Sugared Orchids (have emptied a bottle of this...) Hathor LP:Green PG: Dominance Soul Food (just ordered a bottle today) Just pheros? DYG, UNS Cuddle Bunny DH is a steady guy - Rajah, Elementary, La Vie Boheme, 12th Night, SUPER
  6. So I put this on Friday and it just never settled on me. It seemed...harsh? Licoricey I suppose. So I put it in DH's bowl. He tried it the next day. EEE Ooww. He has different skin chemistry from me for sure! It was a wonderful woodsy incensey scent on him with a sharp spicey overtone. Very festive. At least we rarely squabble over the vials - if it doesn't seem like me, it's usually fantastic on him.
  7. At first application, this one seemed very sharp to me. Now after an hour or so, it is very pretty - something lightly powdery, and a slight hint of licorice-y-ness (thanks Dolly for identifying that - like the smell of real licorice). I can't wait to see the final descriptions - this is a warm scent I would be happy to wear about the office as a "positive influence", if that's what it is intended for.

    Blood Martini

OK this one is not what I expected. I don't know - maybe I expected something with a metallic slick smell like blood with alcohol undertones. What was I thinking... This is a gorgeous floral at first application. After about 1/2 hour out comes the raspberry - strong and assured but not overtly "fruity". And there is a soft undertone of...wood? incense? Feminine. Assertive. Good.
  9. Oh this is a very pretty floral on me. I don't detect much fruit either, if any, but on me florals will amp up and run you out of the room, so how would I know? A lovely cover for Popularity Potion, and I find myself taking a whiff every few minutes. I feel pretty....
  10. Sugarplums indeed. This is fabu - a very holiday festive scent. Lots of plummy goodness anchored in creamy sweetness. Yum.
  11. Wow interesting how differently this one is interpreted by different people! This one was a close cousin to my beloved Hathor, at least on my skin. Wet I was not at all thrilled - almost fruitcakey. Too fruity and sharp. But after about 1/2 hour, I began to get the rich sweetness of grains. By the end of the evening, I was huffing my arm and feeling the need to pull out my Hathor to compare. Yup, cousins. Wheat Siren stays on my radar...will try again in a few weeks to see how she matures.

    Fairest

Yowza this one is very candy-like. And it has throw - the entire room smelled of pink hard candies. I think I am way too staid to pull this one off, but it goes in my gift packet for my sis-y-law and nieces...they are far more girlie. This is a scent for a princess in a pink camo outfit, and I just happen to know one.
  13. Scourger - you made me spill my tea. But I get where you're going. This would be exactly how you might expect a raven-haired, dark-skinned beauty to smell... Cumin smells like human sweat to me, so I imagine it will blend beautifully given some time to mature. I'm going to try it again in a couple of months after it ages.
  14. I find myself wearing this one a lot. DYG is probably my favorite phero for work or just chillin'. On stressful days - and around that time of the month - this softly resinous scent with DYG is a lifesaver. I slather it on and keep a quiet cloud around myself all day. I keep an emergency vial tucked away in my drawer at work...
  15. Dolly I am laughing about you sneaking SUPER on your man! My DH is a non-stop flirt and chatterbox, but he doesn't like the smell of SUPER (thinks it's too strong - HAHA as if it could be too strong!). He uses it judiciously when he wants to influence a group of women...he wears it if he is meeting with female clients or underwriters. His office is also an estrogen swamp, so really he should wear it all the time, but he says it makes him self conscious. Women will literally just flock around him. He says it gets a little tiring after a while. Poor baby... Hmmmm....just thinking about it I should dig out his bottle when I get home and slather him in it tonight. Wednesday is hump day after all...

    Honeyed Seductions

Wow! Potpourri violets? That's terrible! This is one of my alltime favorites. And I am NOT a violet girl, but something about the violet tempered with musky amber and honey - and I have SS pheros in mine which sharpen the edges a bit. When I want compliments and to feel super sexy all day, this is the one I reach for. And it is the scent which consistently gets compliments EVERY time.
  17. La Vie Bohéme is a hit with me. I am a little cautious about coffee or cream or chocolate scents. They can go sour on me. But this is delish and stays that way. Not much throw for me, but it does keep wafting up from my chest. The slight bitterness of the coffee is I think a perfect compliment to the slightly metallic smell of the pheromones (to me they always seem like a sharp metallic edge). And then there is a "dry" cream scent below. Mmmm. This may be my next bottle purchase. Must get DH to try the Homme version...

    Native Soil

Interesting....the DH is a Gemini, and this scent is beautiful on him. He's wearing it today and called me to tell me how good he smelled, and then dropped by at lunch to emphasize the point...I think he feels frisky too...he nipped my neck.
  19. In vial - banana quickbread mix - gooey banana. At first wet - the little of the coconut and vanilla peek out. Smell of coconut makes me happy - and I wear coconut oil as moisturizer (not the fractionated stuff - the pure solid cooking-grade stuff) - so it all goes together well. After drydown it goes a touch powdery, but a fruity powder...powdered juicyfruit? I think I'm a little high from the fumes and so far my boss has made a couple WAY OUT THERE flirty comments (not like him AT ALL) and the two bikers who came in for an appointment with someone else were mighty chatty and had to be dragged away for their meeting...gotta love the TAH. OK on their way out just now one of the guys just asked me if I wanted a ride....hmmm I'm tempted.
  20. Why Miss Danna, bless your little heart! You've captured the scent of a fresh gardenia bloom. Reminds me of the gardenias blossoms floating in water throughout our house as a kid. The plants lined our driveway (along with night jasmine) and my mother would pick the blossoms and float them in water in each room. Sometimes I miss my fragile white flowers, and perfumes usually don't do them justice. This is a lovely surprise. Thanks so much.

    Sultry Afternoon

Sultry Afternoon is well-behaved enough for the office (but then again I occasionally slather myself in PheroGirl for work, so take that for what it's worth!) but .... sultry. Co-worker comments upon entering the BUILDING (not even my office!) "Wow something smells fabulous." DH visited - said as he walked in "Hmmm...you smell nice today. I like that one!" I said - you can smell me all the way out there? He just shrugged and said he knew it had to be me. After work I worked out, showered and applied another scent to try. When DH got home, he sniffed my proffered wrist obediently, and said it was nice, then said "But I really liked the one you were wearing earlier today." It's a hit. Lovely throw (um...I do tend to be generous with application - if you don't like it, back up or leave the building) and lasted a full day and then some.
  22. This does smell exactly like the neopolitan ice cream that was my father's favorite. I really like the strawberry element here - it's fresh and very true to strawberry ice cream. And the rich vanilla and chocolate blend very well. A very balanced and stable scent - especially since chocolate often morphs into bitter awfulness on me. This was still lovely 8 hours later, a freshly opened paper box of neopolitan ice cream.

    Sultry Afternoon

This is the one I decided to wear today. In the vial, I smell fruits (must be the currant) and a touch of what is probably honey. On, at first it's oh-so-fruity. Now after an hour, a touch of powdery musk has come forth, and the fruit has melded with a soft spiciness. It's fairly subtle on me, with a soft sexiness about it. I like this one.
  24. I'm all bouncy and sparkly when I wear Cougar (at least I think I am!). And I also have a disturbing propensity to shop while under its influence... Coincidence?

    Holle

This was a surprise sample (ahhhhh, THANKS! I love those!) and I adore it. I knew from the moment I sniffed the vial, this one was a keeper. I can't tell a single note, but my overall impression is one of warmth and coziness - I don't think "fruity" as much as "grainy." Could be because I have horses, but it smells of the wonderful smell of warm sweet feed, or the mash as it cooks in wintertime. Sweet creamy starchiness. Much like Hathor, another of my cozy favorites, I wear Holle when I am looking for a cozy blanket of comfort.
