  1. With the love scent version, I added 8 drops to a full LP bottle that was a scent strong enough to cover. Actually, I did that with several of my scents that were strong enough to be cover scents. When you read that some women use 4-8 drops for a day, I figured that much for a whole bottle would be enough to give a hint of it. I think Dolly might have posted that number and it sounded good. I have it in a few of my scents that are good cover scents and have no problem. The LS bottle is actually weaker compared to the EoW here at LPMP. Heck, the bottle I got from here is oil based, 1/3 oz. It was wrapped in the celophane sealers they send scents in and even through that I could smell it. It stank something nasty. I kept it in there for weeks too. So based on that, the love scent one now smells pale by comparison. And I'd rather mix some drops of it into a bottle because the LS one gave me red blotch marks wherever I put it. Yuck to that. Edited to add: I'm 40. I've read posts from women roughly my age (35-45) using up to 8 drops per day. That's a bit much for me, and honestly, I don't want to be walking sex on a stick. I'd rather do some drops in a bottle and have that hint of sex over pure dirty nasty sex.
  2. I bought this without even testing it because I love vanilla. Sugared French Vanilla starts out very sweet then dries down to a sweet vanilla that, for me, is a perfect bedtime scent as it has a very soothing quality.

When it dried, this was a creamy vanilla with the ylang-ylang being very prominent. Actually, it was more like ylang ylang with creamy vanilla as a much lesser note on me, but my chemistry tends to accentuate any note that's spicy, resinous, incense like, tangy or sharp. The ylang ylang gave it a lot of throw too.
  4. A lightly sweet fruit (pomegranate) that wasn't overpowering in any way. On me, after dry down, it faded quickly, perhaps because it was lighter and my skin ate it, which was a true disappointment because I really liked the aroma. If you like lighter fruit scents and your skin doesn't eat them up, then this is definitely one to try!
  5. This was pure pink hard candy on me. I kept thinking of little hard candies you suck on to keep your mouth from going dry. They aren't wildly sweet. In fact, they're a little bit tart to help keep your mouth watering. That's what this smelled like on me - an exact reproduction of that scent both wet and when it dried.
  6. I really need to try Drop Your Guard. I got it at least a month ago (probably two!) and have yet to use it. That's next up for me.
  7. Maybe go a little lighter with the spray if the scent is what's throwing them. Or you could create a scented cover spray. Someone suggested for me to mix in a scent with my leave in conditioner which I thought was a great idea. Maybe you could try something like that since the spray would still be there. Are you sure they're reacting to the scent or could it be the pheromones? What pheromone spray is it?
  8. Hence the hoarding of some of us. I'm tempted to hoard anytime I come across a post from Dolly looking for the original brew of a specific scent (can't remember which) because the rebrew didn't work for her quite as well.
  9. This is my favorite fruit scent. I'm amazed at how strongly the mango and canteloupe are and that they manage to not fade or get lost, which is something I've noticed is rather common in scents that contain these scents. And it really does remind me of summer, fresh and sweet and wonderfully ripe with opportunities. This was the first 'summer fruit' scent I've tried ever that remained very true to it's wet aroma.
  10. I tested this the other day and all I can say is I smelled just like a bar of chocolate. Or like I had been dipped in chocolate. No other note came through on me perhaps because my skin eats most of the other notes. LOL. But I really do like the chocolate aroma aside from the fact that it gave me some serious cravings for lindt truffles. So I'm thinking as much as I like it, wearing this would be bad news for me because I don't need anymore lindt truffles in my life these days.
  11. Isn't it the case that some of the scents are hard to make a comeback or match the original version due to different distributors or difference in ingredients from one batch to another? I guess in that case as much as people might want a comeback, it would be hard to match some potions from one edition or brew to the next.
  12. Very good points regarding the articles. I was more concerned that pheromones could trigger hormonal responses, which you've addressed so this eliminates a concern as well as something that might have been a possible trigger. I think I was concerned that I did something to bring this on myself. Part of my processing of it and making sense of it, I suppose. All I can say is thank you a thousand times over for taking the time to respond with helpful information that makes far more sense to me than anything I could find on my own. I appreciate you taking the time to clarify all of this for me. Regarding DHEA, I've seen it pimped everywhere from weight lifting sites to vitamin sites. I think there are some good supplements out there that have been proven through research to do our bodies good (fish oil/omega 3 - vitamin D, vitamin supplements) but then there are these other things that you've never heard of until recently and there's next to no empirical data on them or medical foundation in what they're saying they can do, and people assume they're safe. Now the FDA is going to step in and standardize them because of all of this and questions about if these supplements even meet basic standards of safety and purity. I guess that's sort of what my thinking was regarding pheromones, and now that I'm more informed I feel much better about using them and knowing they are safe to use especially with the CPS. It really does feel better when you are well informed. Thanks again, Mara!
  13. I think I might want to buy some CPS for the few blends that I that don't have CPS, even though most of the pheros I have from here are unscented, which seemed the logical choice rather than having to wear the same scent every time I wanted to wear a phero. I do feel much better about wearing the pheros now, and I'm so grateful you responded. I did find something in a search through google: discussing pheromone overdoes due to build up another site with a post addressing buildup While neither of these get into what could happen to the body due to pheromone buildup, I personally think there could be a link between pheromone and hormones that could possibly throw our hormones out of whack. I hadn't been concerned originally that pheromones could do that until I came across articles about copulins that discussed them being connected to women who spend large amounts of time together (coworkers, family, close friends) having their bodies synchronize menstrual cycles. And that's not even from application directly to the skin. I personally experienced this phenomena multiple times in my life at work when I was working with a lot of women in healthcare and then with a close friend when we were spending fair amounts of time together between college and socializing. So when my own health issue arose and the doctor told me what she thought it was, after finding a support group online and realizing that there is some correlation (though not 100% - probably more like70-80%) to occurrence in older women whose hormones are declining naturally, bells and whistles went off in my mind. Two of the treatments are actually hormone based ointments/creams but only used very minimally. The other that's been used for most women with a large degree of success is a very strong cortisone cream though there's a new non-cortisone cream that's been used with success as well. So given all these things I've just become more wary of pheromones in general especially since in the case of copulins the common thinking is to use more if you're older because your body is producing less of them. That coupled with the menstrual cycle synchronization phenomenon (and my own experience of a shift in my cycle when I began wearing copulins) has just got me thinking about my health and the timing of this condition's development. I think I had it to some degree before I was wearing pheromones, but I'm wondering if wearing them somewhat regularly was a trigger that exacerbated it. I'll still wear them, but less frequently than I was just to be on the safe side especially since there has been some recent discussion of abnormal hormone levels being linked to cancer. While I don't think everyone who uses pheromones would experience this, I do think in my particular case I'm going to choose to err on the side of caution. But knowing that the base you've chosen acts as a barrier to pheromone absorbtion puts my mind at ease. Thanks for taking the time to respond. I feel much better about using my unscented pheros even though I'm going to use them less just to be extra cautious given my own circumstances.
  14. I've been wondering if pheros can be absorbed through the skin or if they post any kind of risk to our hormones? I haven't been able to find anything online about it, and I figure they're probably safe. I know some of the women here have been using them for ages. I'm just a wee bit concerned because of health issue that's come up that appears to have some correlation to hormones though the correlation it not 100% clear, the group that are most effected by it tend to be women 30+ (but generally older) where their hormones are declining. I've been avoiding them to be on the safe side for now, and also because when I'm not feeling well I don't really feel like shooting for sexy. Shooting for sleep is more my thing. Anyway, I'm just curious though I'm figuring there is most likely no reason to be concerned.
  15. I ordered a trial of this the other day. I'm curious if the licorice aroma will take over. Maybe I can tone it down with some sugared french vanilla if that's the case if I like it overall but the licorice is to much.
  16. The La Vie De Boheme smelled nothing like me, Jane on me. I didn't like La Vie De Boheme at all on me. Me, Jane was once I really liked. There were distinct differences between the two. Some people get different notes from different fragrances. Is there anything in common with the two? Like on me, one note that's more of a minor one can sometimes become the most prominent. Anyway I'm certain that I had Me, Jane. I think IIRC, xev had La Vie De Boheme up for offer on trades too. So maybe she tried it and didn't notice it was La Vie De Boheme? If I'm not paying attention and testing one on one arm and another on the other, I can sometimes forget which is which and invalidate the whole thing unless they are distinctly different. But yeah, I'm sure me, Jane is me, Jane though I will wear it when I get the bottle and then post for certain here.
  17. I got xev's in a trade from her and it was close to the description on me. Certain notes were more prominent on me, but I'm pretty sure it was me, jane - otherwise I'm having the wrong bottle sent in an order. LOL Maybe xev sampled 'La Vie De Boheme' thinking it was me, jane by mistake. Could that have been the case xev?
  18. I ordered a bottle of this after scoring a vial in trade. Yet another one that didn't appeal to me on sight, but after studying the ingredients, I thought I might really like it like so many others. And yup. It's wonderful. On me, it dries to a coconut-vanilla goodness with a hint of banana. Very pleasing to the senses. Plus there's the added bonus of having the TAH mixed into it. I haven't even touched my bottle of TAH from androtics yet and I got that in october. I guess I just like them better when they're roll-ons and don't smell like neroli.
  19. yay to those of you who are original enough to come up with private editions. I've been thinking of a custom sugared blend of vanilla and patchouli and the third element stumps me. I guess I wouldn't be much of a potion master. So to those of you who are, hats off to you!
  20. I love knowing the key notes and seeing how they list them because I can generally determine it something won't work on me. There are a few more that look like they have a good chance of working well for me now that I can see the descriptions. YAY!
  21. I was wondering if the sandalwood, clove and black musk in this would go badly with my chemistry, but I decided to give it a try, and I'm so glad I did. When it dries, the vanilla is very rich, with hints of musk, sandalwood, and clove. The clove is faint, almost impossible to recognize on me, which works well for me because in certain blends clove runs the show even if it's only a minor note. I don't get any woodsy aromas or perhaps they are working to balance the musk and sandalwood because there is complexity to this scent, it's just that the vanilla is what I'm getting the most, which for me is perfect. Definitely a bottle.
  22. I LOVE this scent. It's my favorite bedtime aroma. This was one that was added into an order I made. One I would have never tried. I'm so grateful it was included because it's my soothing, relaxing, sweet dreams scent. Popcorn, creamy chocolate, and caramel is what I get when it's wet. Dry, it's creamy happiness with a touch of chocolate and caramel. The popcorn completely vanishes and I'm left with calming aroma that absolutely wonderful . My only sadness is that it doesn't last as long as I wish - which is to say that I wish it would last through the night so I could wake up to this soothing scent. But in a way it does because it gets on my sheets I know one day Mara is going to post this on the going, going, gone list and that will be the day I snag what's left.
  23. I cannot believe I didn't review this one. It's one of my favorites, of course, I have a list of LPMP favorites that is growing by the month, but this one really and truly is one I adore. I go by what a scent smells like when it's dry and this one is a rich vanilla with apricots and a touch of amber that reminds me of sugared amber which I love because otherwise amber goes soapy on me. And there's the hint of greens but the vanilla with apricots is mostly what I get and it is a very sensual aroma on me that never goes foody like how Super for women always reminds me of vanilla cake. This one stays in the realm of rich and sweet vanilla. I think the amber and greens work a little magic that keep it in perfect balance.
  24. This was one of those that smells fantastic on me when first applied and even as it's drying. Normally, this is a blend I wouldn't have tried, but I like to sniff the vials and it smelled so good I had to give it a test, despite knowing there are notes in it that tend to not work well with my chemistry. Eh well, you can't blame a gal for trying. It was a nice musky aroma that wasn't overbearing as some musks can be on me. And the tonka and sugar came out to play and I was hedging my bets that it would be a bottle. Then my skin latched onto the pepper and that was all I could smell once it dried. I waited and sniffed and hoped for the other aromas to come back, but my skin ate them and I was left with pepper. Oh, it's heartbreaking when you really love a scent and then there's one note that for whatever reason takes over and it's the one that's a deal breaker. Oh, my heart was truly broken over this one. Dang my chemistry!
  25. I tested this one last night. I didn't think I'd care for it much because I tend to like fruity, foody, creamy scents the most, but I was pleasantly surprised by this one. When it dried down on me, it wasn't as strong as I thought it would be, and the bayberry was a soft aroma that reminded me of how it smells in cooking rather than a heavier dried herb in a jar scent. The cinnamon was enticing, a bit strong at first but faded to a light and tantalizing note. Then for some reason my skin just ate it up and the bayberry & gold faded completely just when I was beginning to think I might buy a bottle. It only lasted about an hour or two on me after dry down, but it was a lovely aromatic experience while it lasted. This one is definitely a Christmas or winter scent, but I didn't find it overwhelming as seems to be the case for me with most scents that have cinnamon in them.
