  1. I'm wearing this for the first time tonight. This scent is one for lovers of vanilla with spice. I'm not particularly good at being able to detect a difference between clove or cinnamon or nutmeg. To me they are all spicy and my olfactory sense isn't honed enough to detect a difference in them, at least not yet. But what I definitely get when it dries is spicy vanilla. Personally, I think this would be a wonderful scent to layer or to wear alone. I'm thinking I might try layering it with sugared patchouli and then with sugared honeycomb and probably several others. It's the sort of scent that would probably go well with several LPMP fragrances.
  2. Seriously! I'm still picking through the old ones and ordering like mad. I'm like a junkie hooked on LP crack. HA! I'm really curious about Time Travel Potion because just this last week I've started meditating again. I used to be able to go into a meditative state anywhere at will but then I stopped for some foolish reason. Oh yeah... life. HA! So if this can help me get back to my happy floating place, count me in. And then of course there's another LP winter solstice with COCOA and WALNUT?! Are they kidding?! That's calling to me from 3,000 miles away. Oh yeah, there goes my play money for this month.
  3. I'm fairly certain this should be on a bumper sticker. Sorry to hear about your mom. The first Christmas was really difficult for my mom and I after my dad died. You and your mom are in my thoughts and prayers.
  4. Oh boy, there's a bunch there that I'm going to have to test... I feel like that scene in the Godfather where Al Pacino says "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!" There are always going to be new ones I'm going to have to try and then buy oodles of... I'm such a junkie.
  5. I ordered a few bottles, and Joanna sent me a lovely sample vial when I requested it. If you'd like, I can send it to you so you can try it first.
  6. This is such a wonderful scent that I'm purchasing a scent locket for it because it loses it's deliciousness when mixed with my chemistry. It's sweet like sugared candy and fruit with the jasmine and rose toning down the sugary aspect so it is not overly sweet but tantalizingly mouth watering. I had such hopes for this because I fell in love with it in the vial, and when my chemistry didn't agree with it, I just couldn't leave it at that. So yes, I am getting a scent locket just for this. It's just to wonderful a perfume to let my skin destroy it in all its beauty.
  7. This is the most amazing honey scent I've ever smelled, so wonderful that I ordered two bottles of it! The honey is strong and sweet but not overpoweringly so, but rather, strong and sweet the way honey smells in a bottle or on a spoon. This also has good throw, like I didn't have to sniff my skin to get a whiff of it. I had put a small inch long dab on my forearm and while I was typing I could smell it ever so faintly. It also has staying power, as in several hours later (approximately four) I could still smell it and just as strongly as when it applied. The wonder of this scent is that it doesn't morph (on me) into anything beyond what it is aside from an ever so faint peak of the cinnamon after it dries down. A very subtle cinnamon that makes the scent dazzle a little bit more with a hint of complexity while remaining honey in its essence. I didn't even smell the rose, which for me was perfect because rose on me morphs into soap. If you like sugared honeycomb I'm betting that you will truly love this one. Just think more honey, a little richer (and somewhat deeper because of it) with a subtle dash of cinnamon. The sexual scent reminder of sugared honeycomb is toned down because of this, but I promise the scent itself makes up for it.
  8. I remember when I got my EoW it was in the cellophane wrap and I could smell the scary cheesy smell through the stinkin' (literally) wrap. I kept in in the wrap for weeks! I was afraid to take it out.
  9. My current top five for daytime are: 1. LP original 2. Sugared Honeycomb/amber mix 3. LP Winter 4. Sugared Almond 5. Pherogirl When my Sugared Patchouli and Sugared Egyptian musk arrive those babies are going to knock LP winter and Sugared Almond off the day list! For night curling up in bed: 1. LP: Winter 2. Oidhche Shamhna 3. Sugared Cream 4. Sugared French Vanilla 5. Sugared Almond (Sugared Honeycomb is #1 if I worked and couldn't wear a scent because of silly scent free work environment rules)
  10. This is my favorite amber ever. I've got a few from patchouligarden.com that are very potent and rich and if I'm not careful can get soapy on me unless I mix them with Sugared Honeycomb which is exactly what I did. Now this one, sugared amber, needs no mixing (though it's pretty amazing when blended with sugared honeycomb). This one never gets soapy or to resinous allowing me to fully appreciate the amber. I suspect potent scents are best sugared down on me as I adore sugared patchouli as well. If you aren't a fan of amber unless it's been toned down a bit, I highly recommend sugared amber because the sugar tones it down just enough that it's delicious... not in a lick your arm delicious way but in an I want to just rest my nose next to this aroma and know what it is to be fully content in the here and now. That is the magic of sugared amber.
  11. Oh I can't believe I never reviewed this one. It's one of my favorites. To me, almond reminds me of a very delicate spice. I know it's not, but something about the aroma gives a hint of it, and when it's sugared, for me it comes off creamy and sweet with a very delicious hint of daring. I absolutely love this one. Haven't layered it yet because I love it so much just on it's own.
  12. What I realized an hour ago is that it smells a lot like Tresor by Lancome (or Poeme, forget which one). Both were favorite scents of mine before I stopped using sprays and went to oils. So now I'm especially happy!
  13. I was really excited to try this because I thought it would be a patchouli blend that I could wear since I've loved all the other LP versions that I tried. The patchouli wasn't quite as potent in the vial as it was on me. In the vial, it was a mix of buttery vanilla and patchouli. Nothing else that my nose could note, but when patchouli is in town, that's pretty much all I smell Once on my skin, the buttery vanilla were quickly lost to the patchouli as it was the only note that seemed to endure. I kept hoping the other notes would peak on dry down, but sadly that didn't happen probably because my skin eats butter and vanilla aromas. It actually seemed as if the patchouli mixed with my natural skin oils and took on a life of it's own, a rich and potent patchouli life though it never went to that incense or wet dirt aroma most other patchouli does on me. I think it was softened by the vanilla, which I suspect is why so many love it. And I'm sure that if my skin didn't eat vanilla and butter, it would have been one of my favorites.
  14. This was another wonderful surprise. A sample was included in my last order and I almost wrote it off but then decided to at least give it a whiff. In the vial, it was sweet with a hint of musk, nothing overwhelming which musks usually are to me unless they are a minor note in a mix. So I decided to sample it. As it dries down it becomes a light and sweet musk. Not overly sweet in any way, but enough to make me want to keep sniffing my wrist. It's vaguely reminiscent of something floral and honestly, I wouldn't even think it was a musk if the vial wasn't labeled because musks tend to be too strong on me. It's also a scent I wouldn't have to wear much of because it's strong enough to last and my skin doesn't eat it up while not being overpowering. Light or pale musk as others have described it is perfectly accurate. If you are not a fan of strong musks but like any fragrance that has musk mixed in but not one of the main ingredients, then this might be one worth trying. I suspect it might layer especially well with some of the layerable scents. I think this might be a bottle for me.
  15. I'm not a fan of patchouli in general. On me it smells like a mix of wet earth and bad incense. HOWEVER, I tried this one after reading raves about it in the 'what's your potion of the day' thread and my oh my, Mara has worked some sort of wonderful magic with this where it's soft and sweet and delicate while still retaining basic patchouli qualities only not as strong or overwhelming. Don't get me wrong, this is still potent. You only need a little bit and that goes a long way. But it's such a lovely patchouli that if you like patchouli in the slightest bit this one is well worth a try. It's warm and earthy with a hint of incense aroma.
  16. I wore this yesterday and I was in the grocery store and there was an elderly gentleman going out of his way to help me get eggs out of the freezer case. I think he got a hit of the pheros and didn't want to leave my side because he stayed right next to me holding the freezer door while I was checking the cartons to avoid broken eggs. I apologized for taking so much time and he said not to worry and to please take my time - all the while smiling like it was truly his pleasure. It didn't even occur to me that it was the SS until I got in my car. And then I realized it was probably amped up a bit for him since I was all sweaty having just come from the gym.
  17. I forgot to post that I wore this on Thanksgiving and there was happiness and no drama and everyone getting along very well. I do believe it made for a lovely dinner since usually there is at least some or even one snippy exchange. But nope. Not even the hint of a snip. TH is a must have!
  18. I'm still playing catchup with a lot of the older ones. This order was: Love PotionĀ®: RED unscented Cougar Sugared Honeycomb Love Potion original ~ with trials of Deliciously Wicked and Mummy Chunks. Odds are both will end up being bottles in the next round, and Sogni Incanti looks like an upcoming trial too!
  19. This is divine! Luscious vanilla, creamy on me not so much buttery. It's very similar on me to original LP, but with a creamier aroma that brings out the vanilla a lot more for some reason. The sweet winter preserves are subtle and add a hint of complexity - sweetness in the background that mixes wonderfully with the creamy vanilla without ever taking over. I adore this one. Perhaps my favorite of the LPs I've tried, though I also do love summer solstice and have black and red sample on the way
  20. Just ordered samples of LP red, LP black, fairest, and eggnog riot along with bottles of LP: summer 2008 and Oidhche Shamhna. I have no doubt there will be another order with at least one of those samples to follow, but possibly all four and if the lab includes any other samples, there's a 100% probability that I'll order one of those since every order I've had there's been a few extra samples included and always one of them that I loved. Oidhche Shamhna was one I never would have tried. They added it in and I loved it. Same with LP: summer, and even the original LP was included in my first order which got me hooked on the LP line. I guess I'm truly a testament to how adding in extra samples can generate lots more business. I never would have thought to try ANY of those that I now love! I think they are especially gifted at looking at what you order and guessing what you will like based on your order. They've sure got my number!
  21. I was going to order a trial size of this today, but it seems like if I did, I still might not get to get a bottle because it would be sold out by the time I had a chance to test it. Sees like some scents just go fast! The scents here are just that good!
  22. I LOVE this scent. It dries down to a sweet honey smell with a hint orange. Very nice aroma that lasted for several hours. The cops did their job too. I got lots of smiles from men, but nothing that bordered on what appeared to be them getting a strong sexual vibe from me, so it seems there's a nice happy balance even though I've read that there are a lot of cops in PG. It's funny because a few of the smiles I got were from guys who have seen me at the gym before but when I wore PG, their smiles were like I either was luminescent like an angel or like they had noticed me for the first time ever. It was hard not to look at them funny after seeing their reactions to me. Since that day, one of the guys who looked at me like I was all shiny and sparkling seems to notice and watch me whenever I'm at the gym. Nothing weird or creepy, but like now I'm on his radar whereas I wasn't before. And he's there with a girl (who I'm guessing is his girlfriend). So he's extra careful when she's around. The whole thing is comical.
  23. I tried Super 4W the other day and LOVED it. It had an edible, cake like aroma that eventually turns to more of a vanilla and like baking cakes in the kitchen. But it's not completely foody on me. It's a delicious vanilla cake aroma that reminds me of baking cakes in the kitchen. Sweet and yummy and soothing. As for the phero effect, one guy that always says hi to me started a conversation with me and seemed like he really wanted to talk to me. Our exchanges have pretty much been, "hi, how've you been?" - very casual, nothing much, but when I wore Super 4W, he seemed compelled to have a conversation with me, and at a few points he moved a little closer, like he was probably getting a good feeling from the pheros. Another guy was pretty friendly to me with a big smile and came around me a few times. So the pheros in this mix seem to have good throw, which is great.
  24. Great tip, especially since I do have some extra roll-on bottles. I'll do that with scents I have coming in the next few days. Thanks!
