Grapefruit also added a little bit of rotten citrus in the background. Hmm...not a keeper for me. I smelled like that cereal with the Sun and the scoopy thing of raisins that's been sitting in milk for days.. outside... in the desert. I think it's the brown sugar that gets all cracked out on my skin. I wish it didn't because it smells delish in the vial but then once it establishes contact, forget it. It starts off strong and warm and elegant, but as it dries it goes a bit too rank for my liking. It's not a favourite for me, but it's not bad. Civet can be temperamental on me. Definitely with a slutty vibe, but warm and fruity at the same time. I like that the grapefruit is on the sharp side, otherwise I think it would be totally overpowered by other notes. And wow, what an interesting experience! I put some in the crooks of my elbows, and some on my wrists/backs of hands. The elbow patches amped grapefruit to high heaven, and I thought, Nope, not happening. But then that stage ended, quite quickly -- and oh, good gracious, this is what I hoped Sexology (the scent) would be and could never quite get! I was always overwhelmed by sugars in that one. The grapefruit somehow tempers the sugars. Once it's dried down, the grapefruit is this light sharp note that makes all that sweet sugared dirty darkness work beautifully on my skin. And at the later drydown stages it becomes such a lovely 'sugared SLF' (honey-amber-musk) scent. I believe that sugars in this one make the SLF-part much softer, and even with the civet note being there, the scent does not come off as 'dirty' in the littlest bit. The grapefruit note is reminding me of Glamour Puss tonight. A sexy NC-17 rated Glamour Puss. Everything melds seamlessly so dark and dirty is perfectly matched by bright and sparkling. I think this will be gorgeous for next summer, because despite the dark and dirty notes, it wears quite light, almost sheer on me. Wet on my skin, I get a note of Celery or Fern (much like Bekkah noted at the beginning of the thread. So I figured, ok, it's a male or unisex scent. After drydown, now it's a lovely unisex sort of musk/amber smell. Really no grapefruit to speak of. I may try layering this with a sugared to give it a lighter note. Update: layered with a smidge of Sugared French Vanilla, but the bleed through is still too musky for me. Don't think this one is for me Update: removed the scent with glass cleaner wipes like I usually do, and now all I smell is ill-disguised cat pee. Since we own three cats, this is a scent I'm probably triggering against as a sign I need to clean something, rather than sexy times. Interesting experiment though ! Was never big on Grapefruit until I got the wonderful Sugared Grapefruit, so I thought I'd give this a shot. Cinnamon and honey? That can't be wrong. I wasn't afraid of the civit because I have Remind Me Again and it's just fine. So, I got my full bottle, thought once (no, twice) about wearing it to work without trying it before, and rolled it on anyway. Yes, it's sexy, but I liked it and I wear all sorts of "forbidden" things to work. Oh yeah, there's that "animal note" in there I could detect. I didn't care because the grapefruit is sitting on top of it all with it's grapefruity brightness. But we know citrus notes tend to burn off quickly.... So, I get to work and immediately walk into a meeting, sit down, and my female co-worker says "What is that smell?" She thinks it's her shawl needing to be washed, it's her laptop...??? I'm playing innocent. And, you know, I am getting an off note from myself, like a stale cigarette smell (I am never around smoke). But I still smell honey, grapefruit, and cinnamon, so I have faith that I still smell good and the off note I am getting can't possibly be detected. The male on the other side of me didn't seem to notice. Later I mention this on Facebook and Mara comments that it is a very sexual blend, that she wouldn't recommend wearing it to work. Oops! But there's no cops or pheromones, so I thought it would be safe. Just a caution about this one. No one else complained. None of the males I was around seemed to mind. I actually enjoyed it's dirty honey sexiness. Very sexy, a little sparkly and pretty damn compelling. Another of Mara’s all time favorites! I have never smelled another like it since it was made.
